Which of these things will happen in the next fifty years?

Poll forthcoming, but it'll take a few minutes. I would suggest that you use this time productively by learning the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody, or perhaps learning some key Chinese tourist phrases

Hi-pop areas have their advantages but I think that they also bring out the worst in people. I think that, as a survival mechanism, people in hi-pop zones tend to dehumanize those around them. It's too much stress (for many) to have honest human interactions with that many people on a constant basis, and the relationships that get built (generally) aren't normal/natural/healthy ones. To each their own but I can barely stand to spend substantial parts of my day in crowds.

There are some places in the city that are quiet, but I don't have enough digits in my income to live in those places.

Perhaps that's part of the reason I don't like Elway, but it's not the whole reason.

I'm not a crowd guy, either. I think a person has to have their own space. But even in the middle of the city, I think you can get that. I've got my own house and my own yard, even if it's a small yard (which I prefer). I kind of like having pedestrians on the sidewalk regularly, and being able to walk to all the normal stuff.

I can see advantages of both city life and country life. I think I could be happy living where I do, and I could also enjoy living in a very isolated setting. But from a practical perspective, living in an isolated setting requires tradeoffs that I don't like: long commutes, driving to stuff like the grocery store, etc. I like being a medieval villager and having everything I need within walking distance.

#5 - A U.S. President is assassinated.

I voted no. Our last assassination was 51 years ago. Granted, I think that attempts are more common as the years go by, but I think the security measures are advancing more quickly. I think a planned assassination would be very hard to pull off in the modern world. If it happens, it's probably going to be some weird fluky thing where the president does some impromptu campaign stop and encounters a loony who happens to be carrying a gun.

Question; did you write these questions out beforehand? Because I could not keep track of the question-count if I were to create a poll of this magnitude.

At this time, this poll has attracted 98 voters and absolutely none of them think the Israelis and Palestinians will achieve a peaceful resolution to their situation within the next 50 years.

And yet, the U.S. continues to give millions and millions of dollars to non-taxpaying foreigners who are of a specific religious belief so that they can continue to wage war and exacerbate the conflict with no end in sight.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...we have taxpaying natural-born citizens living in poverty.

You don't necessarily have to go, but you must indeed figure...

Oh, yeah. There's a lot of prep that goes into a megapoll. You're working up drafts, you're editing, you're cutting, and then of course you have to alphabetize. It's not a spur of the moment exercise.

Yeah, I find that really intriguing. There's no confidence at all that the problem will be solved, and my vote falls in that group, too.

So is there any endgame? Are people going to hate and murder each other over there forever? If so, why are we investing money? Would our side lose if we didn't, and we're just funding with the goal of a stalemate?

It makes me wonder if the people making the policy have a goal in mind. We the people seem to feel that there's not a positive outcome that's feasible.

I'm working on an epic Chiefsplanet thread now, but it's still a long way from unveiling. But I would recommend that you not leave forever until you see it.
