Would You Welcome the Chiefs Leaving to Rid Yourself of the Hunts?
Bill Simmons' column on Daniel Snyder made me think about this again.

Over the last forty years there have been two consistent themes with the Chiefs: futility and the Hunt family.

If you were presented with the option of the Chiefs leaving for LA and getting a new franchise in Kansas City in 2018 would you take that deal, or is your loyalty to the Chiefs alone too great?

Not necessarily. The NFL profits from that town regardless of it's lower income (compared to a lot of other NFL cities) There's not a whole lot going on in KC - fat redneck fans dart toward that stadium, come season. The town would warm up to a new team fairly quickly too.

I think it'd be a fun change - personally.

The chuefs product is beyond stale.

So difficult to enjoy the wins or feel any emotions when they lose.

I don't know about that. They built an arena downtown tailor made for Ice Hockey or Basketball nearly 10 years later still no ownership has come forward. If I was a prospective owner and the NFL said you must locate in KC I would seriously look at all options including pulling out the deal. I could see the local Cerner boys possibly having interest in the Chiefs if the Hunts would decide to pack it in and sell. Those guys seem like sports fans though I would soon keep the Hunts and the Cerner guys buy the Royals.

The amount of money Clark makes in a year from Hunt Oil makes the Chiefs look like a hobby.

Arguing over a few million here and there is ridiculous. It isn't about money its about long term decision making and Clark hasn't had enough history to look bad in that area.

He unloaded the bank on Reid because he thought he was the solution. Right or wrong its not about Clark's commitment.

Its classic fandom to think you understand his situation. Hindsight is 20/20 and Clark has more time coming to him before the decision should be made on his commitment to winning

You realize if you want a new team all you have to do is pick one of the other 31 teams. Surely one of them does things your way.

As far as what I think, I moved out of KC 30 years ago, so as long as they are the Chiefs and wear the same uniform it really doesn't matter what city they play in. It would be a STUPID move for KC, but it would be what some of you idiots deserve.
