Here's what they printed from the RS article:

“The first time I heard that was from Mr. Jones last season: He said there was a tape of me that might get out,” says Bryant.

Here's the paragraph that RS printed in that story:

“The first time I heard that was from Mr. Jones last season: He said there was a tape of me that might get out,” says Bryant. He’d scoffed at Jones, saying that no such thing existed.

The first version leaves out a denial by Bryant, which significantly changes the tone of the whole thing.

A 911 call? That’s news to me. And it may be news to folks in Dallas who haven’t previously been inclined to gather much news about this story.

{ Why is Florio surprised there is a 911 call? Why he is acting like this is new? Somebody called it into police/911. That was established years ago. It is why the police responded to the scene in the first place and filed a report. Why act like this is new information that people and the media have ignored?}

The higher ups at ESPN told everybody that works for them to stop talking about either incident, altogether. If they continue to speculate, I'd imagine Dez could sue the shit out of them unless proof shows up.
