Social Media Guys.... help!
I've got a list of 70k email addresses, and I want to cross-reference Twitter to find the associated Twitter account.

I can't find a way to do this.

I went so far as to create a dummy gmail account, imported the contacts 3k at a time through csv files, and then created a dummy twitter account and asked it to "find my friends" by searching my gmail account's contacts.

No dice, Twitter says "error."

Any other work-arounds, or free service that can perform this function?

No idea why your Find Friends trick didn't work, it should have.

Unfortunately, Twitter's API doesn't allow for this so you can't write a simple script to do it. You could use this service http://www.fullcontact.com/ but it costs money and appears to be a pain.

There is also https://stormpath.com/ which uses FullContact.

No truly free solution unless you are willing to import them 50 at a time...

My guess is Twitter isn't built to search 70k contacts or you were running into timeout issues... I'd import 500-1000 at a time until it doesn't work to see where it maxes out at.
