No - the argument for Orton - Is I dont want to tie myself to 5 more years of average Qb's ---- My guess is Quinn's deal is a 1 year 2 year contract tops...

Again, i feel we will get our QB in 2013.

Hell Campbell would have been cheaper and he signed a one year deal + he would beat Cassel out for the starting job and keep it.

Brady Quinn's career stats: 10 TDs, 9 INTs, 52.1% completion percentage and a 66.8 QB rating.

That is a "glimmer of competence"?

Quinn is no sure bet, and I had no enthusiasm to champion him prior to signing him, but he has had a horrible string of bad situations with miscalibrated expectations, where he didn't astound like Cam Newton but also didn't shit the bed like Ryan Leaf, only to be supplanted by; a QB on a hot streak, a QB with more 'experience' and The People's Jesus, almost always on shitty shitty teams.

Now he has a chance with a coach who likes him, a team with lots of weapons, and competition that has no business even being in the league.

Nothing's guaranteed, but it's nice to have, even for a moment, something other than a black cloud of utter uselessness at QB for the foreseeable future. I'm not crowning anything, but I will let him make his case.
Nice take!

Haven't you been listening?! In 5 years he hasn't been given a fair shot because the teams he has been on would rather lose than play him. Simple as that.

****stick, I WANTED Orton, I'm doing nothing more than remaining open to Quinn.

I've been here 13 years, go find where I've said ****-all about Quinn before today, . . . in college, before his draft, during the draft, his years in Cleveland, his years in Denver, ANYTHING before today.

But I have paid attention, and while he hasn't often helmed a powerhouse offense, it's not like he was making stupid mistakes or throws he was incapable of completing, or dancing around like a bunch of Kansas City bundle of stickss with no clue how to run an offense. Just a guy trying hard in a bunch of shitty situations often stacked against him unless he magically proved the second coming of Johnny Unitas.

Its not about the money, people complain we are paying Cassel 5m a year this year lol.. that we paid him 60+ m or whatever... and now everyone says its not your money...

You arent getting it... While Orton is an Upgrade... he was looking for a long term place ---- 5 Years????? 6m his first year as a backup... do you realize what we would have needed to offer him to get him to stay...

Other than I was ticked Cleveland traded to the spot right in front of us to grab Quinn in the draft, I am right with this whole post too.
