Why?

On a side note, I was in a meeting a while back and made a little joking comment about getting PTSD about a controversial issue. A woman came up to me later and said, "I'm a veteran and you need to be more sensitive about referencing PTSD." What, are veterans the only people who can talk about PTSD any more?

Some of us veterans are pretty self righteous, bro. When I was walking through the Arrowhead parking lot after the Charles fumble loss to Denver last year, there was a drunken female veteran berating some poor fellow who she believed didn't clean up his tailgating area well enough.

She was cursing at him, yelling, trying to fight him, all while being held back by family.

How did I know she was a veteran, you ask? At one point she yelled, "I'm a veteran and I fought for your right to tailgate and leave your trash everywhere!"

This was apparently a normal interaction for this lovely young lady, because the entire time her family was holding her back one of them kept telling her that she has to stop fighting every one else's fights.

Quite the scene.

In many sports, it's just kind of hanging on the wall. And even in the NFL lately, it seems like it's usually a giant crowd of random people holding a ridiculously oversized flag.

It's not like there's some law that says you can't play the national anthem unless there's a military officer there. That wouldn't go over well in the Olympics, I wouldn't think.

The irony is that soldiers are just people and care about the flag and the national anthem about as much as the normal joe. The only difference is they are regulated to honor these things with salutes and standing at attention.

In my experience most soldiers would alter their movement around Reveille and Retreat\To the Colors.

"Hey Joe, let's go to the mess hall."

"Yeah OK, but lets wait 15 minutes so we don't get stuck outside during retreat."

What do you think happens when a bunch of guys are standing 15 feet from the barracks door and retreat starts? They scramble like cockroaches when the lights are turned on.

I'm less offended by CK's actions than the actions of Joe Blow in the stands who can't be bothered to remove his hat or shut his ****ing mouth for a few minutes while the anthem play. Before 9/11 it was really bad, atleast everybody stands now.

Why is it so shocking that some black people might not love a song about freedom that was written by a slave owner? The third verse straight up celebrates the death of slaves! Plus it's a bad song and doesn't even have a catchy hook. Smh

A lot of people don't know that there are four verses. I particularly like the fourth.
