If you extend Sorensen at 1/3 or 1/2 the price. Use the rest to sign a ILB or whatever need. I wonder what the drop off would be. Youd still have most of the core guys locked up

Cause if you sign Berry to a massive deal I cant see how you keep Sorensen, Poe, address ILber other than having to fill all these needs in the draft

Maclin rarely healthy?

By that standard most WR are rarely healthy.

We should definitely let a guy who single handedly won 2 games this season walk.

What a bunch of dipshits.

Either this year he wasn't healthy (mentally or physically) or Alex Smith ****ing sucks.

Take your pick. He's had season-enders in the past, too.

He has missed 10 games in 7 seasons.

Season enders? Are you talking about 3 games in 2011?

Branden Albert missed fewer games in his time with the Chiefs, yet everybody always called him "injury prone".

All I know is that Maclin better find his dick next year.

Are you just making shit up now?

Albert missed 13 games with KC (9 his last 2 seasons in KC) and has missed 27 in his career. More than double Maclin's injury history on average.

One of these things is not like the other.

Here's the highest safety contract in the NFL...

8/2/2016: Signed a five-year, $64.1 million contract. The deal contains $35 million guaranteed,including a $15.5 million signing bonus. 2016-2020: Under Contract, 2021: Free

Is Eric Berry that much (in terms of $) better than our safety group without him...including a very highly regarded rookie in Eric Murray that's had a year to prep for the position.

That's like 13m per year...and Eric will want more than that.

Last offseason, Reid talked about Erics situation and made comments like "you can't have that many guys getting paid the highest in the league. You have this salary cap thing to keep in mind"

Not sure how that's gonna change this offseason.

Forgot about his season ender.

In any case, something was up with Maclin, and he's getting paid too much money to be mopey about his dead friend for an entire season. And no, I'm not just trolling. If that was the reason why his production was down, that's ****ing inexcusable.

It's either Alex or Maclin. One or the other. Possibly both. Because another season that Maclin had like last year means he needs to get Dwayne Bowe'd worse than Dwayne Bowe ever did.

The problem with our cap isn't Eric Berry. They need to start trimming the fat and restructuring guys like JC/Colquitt and if they don't like that, then we gotta let em go.

Yeah, I'm just not sure he's going to be worth a $13-15m per year cap hit. He's great, no doubt about it and I love the guy on and off the field. I just don't see us being lucky enough for this to end up being a solid business decision.

Plus this team is always decimated by injury. I'm tired of investing big money into great players only to have them riding bench in January. We could probably get a solid safety off the scrap heap once again and sign a couple other solid players with the remainder of what we'd have paid Berry.
