Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

So I finally watched Moon.



What a fantastic movie. I don't know how in the hell Sam Rockwell didn't win a Best Actor Oscar for his performance. It was truly amazing. A mix of Castaway and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It's low budget, but fantastic. The best movie I saw last year.

And I would add, I watched it on the same night I watched Hurt Locker.

Pride and Prejudice (2005) is a terrific adaptation of Austen's novel. The film is just over two hours long, with a lot of events from the book compressed (I finished the novel about two weeks ago), but it works really well and doesn't feel rushed.

Airplane!, consistently considered to be one of the greatest comedies of all time, is a really overrated. Though it has a few bright spots, too many of the gags are sophomoric and weak.

Groundhog Day, on the other hand, lives up to its reputation. Very solid movie.
