Any amateur herpetologist here? Reptiles and Amphibians.
I am surprised with the number of Saltwater people here...just curious if there were any creepy reptile people like me?

I have kept one of everything it seems since growing up from Timber Rattlers to Panther Chameleons.

Now I just focus on breeding Ball Pythons. I have around 40ish snakes now.
Here are some random pics of some of my animals...







I use to breed Jungle Carpet Pythons too...but reduced my collection size a few years ago prior to moving for graduate school.

Yeah...looks like a couple of snakes with their tails twisted up. Nothing too crazy.

I did however hatch my first set of twins last spring...

Although a wide range of reproductive modes are used by snakes, all snakes employ internal fertilization. This is accomplished by means of paired, forked hemipenes, which are stored, inverted, in the male's tail. The hemipenes are often grooved, hooked, or spined in order to grip the walls of the female's cloaca.

Sounds kinky.

I got my degree in wildlife biology/concentration in herpetology. I am into the amphibians though, I raise Poison dart frogs. Also had some chameleons at one point and a ball python but stick to frogs mostly now.

Cool.

Use to have a White's Tree Frog and some Pacman Frogs back in the day...

Been tempted to add a Waxy Monkey Frog...but I love how little attention my snakes need. I can go out of town for a week and not have to worry about them being fed.

Plus they are kept in racks...no lighting required and just some aspen and a water bowl.
