PFF: Ranking of Secondaries & OLs

Finally, a bit of pre-pre-season football analysis! PFF came out with their ranking of NFL Secondaries and Offensive Lines. Chiefs were in at #13 for secondaries and #17 for OLs. Methinks that at this point in time, that's probably reasonable.

Anyway, here are the links for your reading pleasure:

That's mainly because of Gronkowski (who is a TE which is technically an oline position). Also, Brady helps average WRs become very good to great WRs.

............... So does Arron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers, ect ect..

And Gronk is good but, COMMON! I can think of at least 5-10 off the top of my head that are better.......

You can think of 5-10 receivers who are better than Gronk? Really?

Even though a poll of NFL players themselves ranked him the 9th best player OVERALL (all positions) in the entire NFL in 2016, and 10th in 2015?

I'd take Edelman/Gronk over any duo in the league except maybe Pittsburghs WRs.

With the addition of Martellus Bennett, it's possible this will be the most prolific set of TEs in NFL history. I mean, Gronk/Bennett is a damn sick combo.

And yeah, Gronk/Edelman sort of perfectly complement each other, at least in the Patriots' system.

I'd take Hurns/Robinson over any duo I think. Bortles just has to throw it in their general direction

Eh Gronk/Hernandez was a better duo IMO. Just wonder when will Brady fall off? My prediction is 2 years.

If we're including TEs, give me

1) Robinson/Hurns
2) Nelson/Cobb
3) Brown/Martavis Bryant
4) Thomas/Sanders
5) Green/Eifert

6 could probably go to Gronk/Edelman, Maclin/Kelce or Marshall/Decker or something.

Green is a beast and so is Dez Bryant.

If I'm starting a franchise from scratch and get my choice of WR I don't think you could go wrong with Brown, Julio, Green or Dez. I think those guys are the best of the best.

I like dez, but he's a bit of a headcase for me.

I'd put hopkins,Julio and brown above them

Yeah, as far as talent goes I'd put those guys in the same conversation (would probably have to put Hopkins in there as well although I'm not really a fan).

Dez would be my last pick of those because of the personality issues.

Probably go 1) Julio 2) AB 3) Green 4) Dez.

I think you guys are also (and understandably) only grading these guys on their highlight reel catching/running ability.

Gronk is also an elite blocker. Unlike some of these other guys, he's no liability on running plays, and he can also blow a guy up before he goes out into his pattern.

FTR, PFF had an AFC prediction that put KC at #6 with a 9-7 record. Due to seeding we'd be on the outside looking in the playoff picture.

They cited our OL and secondary shuffles as well as a more competitive division as reasons for a letdown season.
