1. This is not a naturally occurring pepper, but a hybrid cultivated purely for its Scoville rating. MoF it is partially Ghost Chili in origin.
2. Every bit of that pain is, IMO, worth the pleasure of the endorphin rush. Those guys are high as balls, well as high as a decent bowl. 3. I make no claim to be a Scoville superstar, but where I'm lucky [knock on wood] is I've never had the effects of hot things extend beyond my mouth. No stomach complaints, no lava Hershey squirts. I make up for that by sweating like a mother ****er under even the slightest heat. If I had eaten one of those and sat still, there would literally be a ring of water on the ground around me by the end, I have no doubt. 4. The secret to pain control in the mouth is breath control. The capsaicin alone doesn't do shit. It's when it oxidizes from the intake of air that the pain starts. If you stomach is strong enough, you could eat one of those whole, chewing it vigorously, and if you get milk into your mouth fast enough as soon as you open it you'd barely even notice. But then, you'd have missed the entire reason to eat one. 5. I've had Bhut Jalokia and Trinidad Maruga, and they're more addictive than painful on the whole. But never tried this one. Maybe a field trip is in order.

This is just "The World's Loudest Outdoor Stadium" served up a little bit differently. Pointless dick measuring and one-upmanship for the sake of dick measuring and one-upmanship.

For those slinging stuff up on youtube, sure. But for the rest of us, you underestimate the addictiveness of that endorphin rush.

A couple of updates.
First off, and the reason I referenced back to this thread. But out of the blue, I got my ass nearly KICKED tonight by McIlhenney Habernero Tabasco. I have a habit of sprinkling Tasbasco on my popcorn, and tonight I opened a bottle of Habernero and shook it on without giving it much thought. That is MUCH stronger than regular Tabasco. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't made such a big bowl. I powered through it, but also went through 1/2 a 2-liter of Dr. Pepper, much more than I planned on. Probably didn't help that I had an inkling of a fever blister on my lip already. But it's all good now. More clinically, A couple of weeks back, I had the fortune of trying some chili made with Scorpion pepper [The Trinidad Butch-T]. The cook made about 3 gallons in total, and while he put in poblanos, jalapenos and haberneros, he only used about 1-1/2" of the Scorpion Pepper, and that shit DELIVERED. Some of the best chili I've had in a long time, and noticeably flavorful for the intensity and nature of the heat. A little sweet, a little fruity, but very hot. Dude grows his own peppers, and while his stash for the year was pretty much expended, I've asked him to keep me in mind if there's a bumper crop next year. EDIT: Finally, my new obsession is something moms found at Hen House. I don't know how far it's distributed, but it's made in Centreville. Campbell Gardens Candied Jalapenos with Habernero DEEEE-LISH!! Think like the jalapeno jelly you put on cream cheese for hors d'oeuvres, but with Serious Capsaicin.
