The NFL would move Oakland or San Diego to the NFC west not both if they share a stadium. It would be pointless to move both.

Bluff or not? If the Chargers were bluffing, they would have announced the Carson plan a week from now, after the season tickets holders had paid their first installment. Since they announced their Carson plan 10 days earlier than the ticket deadline, it shows that they are serious. Before the Rams move to St. Louis, they made similar moves which downgraded their ability to secure season ticket renewals, which proved to the NFL that remaining in place would be bad business. To convince the league of the need to move, a team must show the great negative financial impact of remaining in place. Less season ticket holders, coupled with less corporate involvement due to the Chargers limited number of sky-boxes, will help meet league criteria.

That's the end game...
Chargers and Rams move to L.A., whether it be at Carson or the Kroenke site in Inglewood. Oakland stays at O.co until the NFL and the A's tell them to get ****ed, then they'll split Levi's Stadium with the 49ers until the Raiders can get a new home in Oakland / San Jose where the **** ever.

Looks like things are not going will for San Diego's bid to keep the Chargers in town.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/sports...616-story.html In another indication of the impasse between the Chargers and the city of San Diego, the club released a statement Tuesday saying it does not believe a stadium initiative can be put on the ballot this year.. That means the Chargers hold little hope of staying in San Diego, at least according to the NFL's current timeline, and will continue to jointly pursue a Carson stadium with the Oakland Raiders.

Let's say they get a stadium for SD and OAK to share...how many locker rooms would the actual stadium have? I'm presuming at least 3, right? How many different practice facilities?
What an absolutely terrible idea, even if the teams were in different divisions, which they aren't...compounding the problem. |

I think the Carson plan is awful, as it's literally on a toxic waste dump and way too South and for most Angelenos, but the Raiders and Chargers need some type of leverage, I suppose. |

The meeting in August is what is going to determine everything. If the NFL decides to give it another year before moving a team into L.A, then the ballot thing doesn't mean anything. If they don't give it another year, then the ballot thing still doesn't mean anything because the vote would've been in December and they've already made up their mind as to which teams are moving to L.A and when.

The LA area needs an explosive team there or it's gonna flop. BIGTIME. There's just too many options for those entertainment dollars. Their best shot is to bring a team like SD there after a bad year and have Jim Harbaugh take over with a top draft pick QB. Nobody is gonna pay to watch a shitty Raiders team..they have to be sold on something entertaining for it to work. Cost of tickets, hassle of getting in and out of the stadium, traffic, etc... It's gotta be worth it. |

I wonder how big of an impact to the salary cap it would be if 2 teams went to LA...especially if the team(s) came from smaller markets.
Let's say the Rams (who would be the best option to draw in fans if Foles works out for them) and the Jaguars move...that's a huge jump in TV contract revenue. |

Carson? Blech. Who wants to go to Carson, for well, anything? Also, this notion that LA isn't a "football town" is absolute nonsense. The Bruins and Trojans sell out each and every week and both teams are beloved. It'll be the same when the Rams return. |

The war of words are flying between the Chargers and the City of San Diego.
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2015/...faulconer-nfl/ Relations between the Chargers and San Diego continued their downward spiral on Thursday, with the team saying Mayor Kevin Faulconer has mishandled stadium negotiations and Faulconer saying he’s made remarkable progress while the team only makes excuses. Mayor: “San Diego is offering solution after solution, while the team has only offered criticisms without alternatives,” Chargers: “The way you work on this stuff is not by doing what the mayor and his people do, which is constantly attack and constantly criticize,”
