The Raiders were one of the best teams in the AFC throughout Gannon's tenure, and did go to a Superbowl (horrible result and all). Unfortunately, that's more than we can say.

But yes, they have been a joke for about 10 years now. The problem comes from not having a franchise QB. Similar to the problem the Bills and Browns have had during that period. Chiefs not far off, although we've had more good seasons in the last 10 than any of those franchises.

Two years out of 20 plus years the Raiders were good. Not too impressed.

More like 4 years from what I remember, but point is, I'm not 40 and I unfortunately remember when they were good and went to a SB. It still ticks me off that the Chiefs management was largely responsible for that because the Raiders wouldn't have been good without Gannon. He was the perfect fit for that team.

Also, 4 years of being good out of the last 20 is pretty much how 1/3 the league has been since 1994. Miami, Oakland, Buffalo, Washington, New Orleans, Cleveland, Detroit, Carolina, Arizona, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, St. Louis. All those teams weren't good for any more than 4 years since 1994.

I am perfectly fine with the Raiders being a slow-motion train wreck. If it were up to me, I would not only fire the coach, but the entire staff and all of the players, and then abolish the franchise and salt the earth on which it stood, so that nothing more may grow there ever again.

Oh of course. I think the Raiders are highlighted due to their ignorant fan base. If they didn't act like they won the Super Bowl in insert every current year every year, people would feel sorry for them.

Case in point, I've been at my job going on five years now. I've known this Raider fan for the entirety of that. Every year he talks so much shit before the season saying they're gonna be good, etc. It's become an office joke. Every time somebody sees him and we're talking sports/football people say, "so is this gonna be the year finally?" He's been there longer than me and I guess it's been going on for almost 10 years. One year he'll be right lol. They're just an out of this world fan base. I think literally most of their fans don't give a damn how they do record wise as long as they can dress like gangstas and weirdos every Sunday.

They would never have a SOC movement or anything like that. I really think they're content with losing as long as they can dress up in costumes.
