Would anything actually make you walk away from the Chiefs?

This will be a somewhat long read, so get some snacks and a drink.

I've been thinking about this lately for the first time in my life and have mentioned it in passing a couple times.

I've sat through them trading for backups from other teams my whole life (I'm 37) and always coming up short. I've driven 10-12 hours (round trip) at least 40 times, bought season tickets in 3 years, spent thousands going to training camp almost every year, spend at least an hour a day chatting about the team, probably dropped 8k on single game tickets everywhere in the Stadium from the worst seats in the house (for the 2003 Indy playoff game where that was all I could afford, but wasn't gonna miss it for anything) to literally the best seats in the house (club level fifth row, the first 4 rows are uncovered, the fifth row is the best...basically Julius Ceasar seats) , thousands on gas, thousands on hotels, bought the jersey of almost every first round pick of the team (until Tyson Jackson broke that streak) spent thousands on ST...you get the point.

I've been a loyal "true fan" for my whole life.

I guess I'm just not sure how much more gas is left in the tank.

Each time they have traded/signed a backup from somewhere else, they discredit themselves from being a team that truly wants to "win it all".

Deberg
Jaworski
Vlassic
Bono
Gannon
Montana (at his age health for a first rounder)
Grbac
Moon
Green
Huard
Croyle
Thigpen
Cassel
Orton
Palko
Quinn
Daniel
Smith

Let's get down to it.

The next name on that list needs to be a guy we select high in the draft and develop into the teams starter. I don't even care who it is. Cook, Hackenburg, Goff, Jones, Hogan, Brissett...don't care who they select...but they need to draft a premium QB prospect in the upcoming draft and develop him or I think I'm gonna walk away from the team until they get real about the most important position in pro sports.

They trade for another POS backup? They hand the keys over to Daniel? They sign some garbage "project they can coach up" QB? There are better things to do with my time/money.

The ONLY guy I'd be ok with signing would be Drew Brees and even then, I want them to draft a QB in the first 2 rounds to groom to be the future starter. Anything less is unacceptable.

Dalton
Bridgewater
Carr
Rodgers
Flacco
Wilson

All guys that weren't good enough for us to draft/develop? The Chiefs were dead wrong to think that and they need to roll the dice this time.

My question to you guys is this....have you had similar thoughts recently?

Most of us here love the sport and this team, specifically, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one thinking this...

Discuss.

I watch, even get ST. And I will next year, too, assuming DirecTV doesn't try to bend me over on it. But my GiveAShitOMeter® is broken. It was in major disrepair after the Pioli/Cassel years, but that playoff loss last time smashed it to bits. I don't get emotionally invested anymore.

For me its more about the NFL in general becoming less and less appealing as a whole.

I'm going to charge you rent if you don't get out of my head. Actually I do watch the games I just don't give a shit one way or the other.

I have changed from a major fan that got excited to see them play. Reading everything I could find about them. Joining message boards so I could read other Chiefs comments about them. To now, ready to do something else with my time. If they are on TV I will watch unless they look terrible. I just don't get that excited about the Chiefs as much anymore. The Herman Edwards and Romeo Crennel years took it's toll on me.

I just turned 34 yesterday and that bears game just sealed it for me this year. I've been watching Chiefs games since I was 8 and after the years of craptastic 49'er QB and seeing how that game unfolded just completely pissed me off and I am done for this season.

Team was already bad with Charles and now without him it's just going to suck. I tried to be a fan of Smith but I can't excuse the crap he is now. I just gave up on him.

Reid needs to just be the cheerleader/coach for the team and let somebody else be OC and Sutton needs to either be fired or needs to be talked to and rearrange his ideas with this team. The D should be getting constant pressure and blitzing the hell out of people.

I'm done wasting my sundays until they either bench Smith or Andy let's somebody else call plays. I just can't deal with this crap show of a team.

My wife got me tickets to the Ravens vs Chiefs game on Dec 20th (we live in PA) I would normally be excited but all i said was thanks and put them away. (trying to sell them if I can) I just can't support this same crap over and over.

This or finding out the games are rigged are about it for me.

I didn't switch teams from the Royals and they had one epic run of turdsville. At least, the Chiefs you think there is some small chance lol

Yep, this. an hour or two of disappointment, and then the easy realization that it's just a silly game. Life's too short for such bitterness or dejection.

bitch.

Seriously, you aren't a fan of this team. You are a fan of the pussy we all hate that we shouldn't have ever traded for.

You are SERIOUSLY SPEAKING the absolute worst poster on this site.

Go back to a 49ers board.

You don't relate to any of us here and have no business posting in my thread.

Drafting a QB in the 1st round. That means a seal has been broken to open the gates of hell.
