Why do black people cross the street so slow?

I live in north Scottsdale/PV area which is not diverse. I am the first to admit I don't get inner city. On several recent occasions I've had to drive down town for business. Every time I have, including today, I've had to sit at a light waiting to turn because a black person deliberately walked as slow through the intersection as they could. Other people walked by them at a normal pace but they just sauntered. On one occasion the person looked at my car and actually slowed down even more.
What the hell? Am I imagining this or is this some kind of thing?

It always cracks me up when people get all butthurt about noticing a difference when they do all that is in their power to keep that divide alive. Seriously. Black history month, Black Miss America?

I don't get why anyone would get all butthurt by it. I mean, if white men can't jump is okay then why isn't black men cross the road slowly bad?

Also, the larger the group, the slower it moves.

Definitely a young person thing. a kid was skateboarding down the street and looked right at me and would not get out of the way. I had to go around him. and he was with a group, but the others were courteous.

I was taught, as I would imagine most males are, by my father to have a firm handshake and look the person in the eye while doing so. If you're sitting, stand while handshaking. It's a courtesy. I have two boys. One is 8 the other is 6. I have been teaching them the same thing. Maybe I'm old fashioned?

That happened here. Unfortunately, the driver was intoxicated. The kid died.

That's a shame, and tragic on both ends.

I don't know if its the culture they're being brought up in. I mean I was brought up without cable and internet. and I was always outside doing something. but I always was aware of my surroundings and cars and trucks had the right of way.
