I do not want to give to charity
I go to Panda Express about once a week. Every single time they ask me if I want to donate money to dying children. I used to just give them money, and round up. But now - I suppose I'm evil I've just not been doing it. And I'm getting tired of places like this asking me to give money after I've just purchased something.

The people with the bell...fine I guess...it's just kind of annoying & awkward asking me this at the cash register after I've just bought $300 worth of shit. You know damn well I have the money to donate.

There are tons of places doing this now. I'll get a sandwich somewhere and they'll be like - do you want to help dying children? I kind of just want to reply - I ****ing love dying children. They are the best kind. Thanks for ruining my day. I'm tired of them soliciting from me because all they want to do is be able to say in their commercials how much money they've raised for charity to in turn get more business to show the world just how much they really care!

I am a horrible person. I realize this.

I do charity on my own time. Every year I've helped at a soup kitchen or a salvation army drive. I just don't want to donate money at a business so they can brag about how much they did so they can become more profitable.

I am on board a large percent going to the company managing the donations as well. The more money the more it will attract talent more talent more donations. I saw it on a Ted Talk one time that charities that don't pay workers or leaders didn't make as much of an impact as ones that offered the workers good wages and pay.

I give great tips on all the eating and drinking places I go where I am SERVED but all this begging for money every time you buy something, even at the God damn supermarket now is out of control. I give NOTHING or tip NOTHING! It's bullshit. I'm not your ****ing employer!

Safeway wants you to donate a $1 for breast cancer.
Sprouts wants you to "round up" your purchase for the homeless
McDonald's has collecting boxes for dropping in your money at the register
Panera Bread has tip jars when you buy at the register like 99.9% of all places now. What the ****! Why am I supposed to pay you money for doing your job???

I need to start putting out a tin cup on my desk at the office and ask for tips!

After reading your posts, I had no doubt you didn't contribute to anything that wasn't for yourself.

I do quite a bit of charity both with time and cash. We have a family related cancer foundation among other things.

I rarely give to a store so that they can give to whatever cause they are doing....use their own profit for that imo.

That said, go throw a couple hundred to your local elementary guidance counselor or nurse and tell them to buy new cloths for poor kids or struggling working poor. That's 100% going straight to the need and not sponged by corporate expenses.
