Since you brought it up -- it was just so bad it is almost indescribable. Since she doesn't do anything consequential for the rest of the film they should have just off'd her there and been done with it. At least it would have had a bit of emotional weight at that point...

At the screening I went to they showed a short documentary on John Williams (they may have done this everywhere, I don't know) but another problem with this movie is like TFA the music is nothing memorable at all.

Episode IX is going to feel like some unnecessary epilogue.

Very similar experience at my theater. There was a lot of clapping and reaction at the start of the film. Almost no reaction throughout and a smattering of polite applause at the end.

Disney clearly doesn't understand Star Wars.

Princess Leia flying in space without a suit like Superman. Embarrassing. I don't know how Rian filmed that and thought -- yeah, that's a good idea.

Yeah, it was bad. I thought TFA was bad but this was worse. And re-purposing music from Empire was just ****ing absurd.

I didn't like the Rogue One score at first, probably because I was so engrossed in "learning" the film that it rubbed me the wrong way but now, I LOVE it.

John Williams should never score another Star Wars film. Blech.

I don't want to play Grand conspiracy and that disney pays for reviews....

But how the **** is this sitting at 92% the more I think about it the more pissed I am.

The Finn/rose story line is worse than anything in the Prequels I'll stand by the statement.

Yep, same here. Packed room at Arclight Hollywood, people dressed up, hooping and hollerin' when the Lucasfilm logo splashed the screen.

Little to no reaction during the film and at the end?

Silence.

My son made the same observation about the whole film feeling more like Episode 9 than Episode 8. Snoke was the best thing about the movie and he's only in a couple of scenes.

I don't know how Disney manufactured all the great love for Rian or the 93% on RottenTomatoes but wholly crap that was prequel-level bad...

Finn and Rose are both cookie-cutter two-dimensional characters. Having them play off of each other is worse than painful - it's boring.

What was really bad is that there was dialogue that you could tell was specifically inserted to address just how stupid the situations were. They can't catch up to the Resistance? Seriously? Oh, we'll add a line where they make light of it. They sit around in the Dreadnought while the Resistance attacks? Fine, we'll add a throw-away line about how stupid it is that they haven't launched thousands of TIE fighters. All through the movie there are absolutely insane events that are occurring because the script is so lazy and they skirt the issues with some slapstick humor or a dumb line.

Had such high expectations for this movie -- but starting to see that Star Wars has gone off the rails...

Okay, I'm good with Yoda but he didn't even have the fuzzy blue stuff around him that made him appear as a Force Ghost. It was just YODA! And he looked like a puppet, yet he didn't and worse yet, Frank Oz sounded awful. The voice actors on the Clone Wars and Rebels have done a much better interpretation. Again, even the kid said "Yoda looked and sounded weird". Aren't they bothering to test kids before releasing these movies?
