My cat insists on "Testing" his water before drinking. Every single time. He'll dip his paw in his water bowl, and lick it off his paw. Then shake his paw furiously. Only after he's content with that, will he actually drink from the bowl.
No idea WTF.....

My cat isn't very smart. We shut the bedroom door at night so she doesn't run across the bed and wake us up ten times a night. We started hearing loud thuds in the living room every night. I'd go out there and knew it was her, but didn't know what she was doing.
I sneaked in one night and watched. Whenever lights would pass by our window(faces out less than 100 yards from busy interstate) she would take a full run across the living room, spring up the couch and throw her body into the wall attempting to catch the light beams. Full sprawl. Smashing into the wall as hard and fast as she possible can. Not a smart cat. Still does this pretty regularly. |

One of my cats did that a couple times, and it's a little jarring. I came downstairs one morning and she was sitting in the couch just like I would - butt in crease of the couch, back against the back, hind legs out front. I had another cat that liked to lay on his stomach with his back legs stretched out behind him, but he wanted his front legs at his side. Well, they don't move like that on their own, so he'd have to stand in his spot and then basically go down chin first until his chin was on the ground. Then keeping his front legs stationary, he'd start walking until he was completely laid down, back legs stretched out, front legs to his sides. |

My cousin has a lab who always shits in a circle. He'll start dropping the deuce, and start waddling in circles. Usually leaves a 3' circle of dispersed turd...

The male cat likes to "hump" a stuffed bear in our upstairs hallway. That's the only place he'll do it. Before he started "seeing" the bear, he would do it to a specific fleece blanket. He's been neutered since he was a kitten and is 12 years old now. |

My sister's cat is very social. He needs to be around people constantly. If you come home when he's been alone in the house for awhile, he'll greet you the usual way with cat chirps, rubbing his head against walls, etc. When you bend down to pet him, then he immediately starts purring. He accepts about 5 seconds of attention, and then starts licking his paws.
And he does that for like 10 minutes. Could be for ANY situation, really. Let's say you were in the office doing work and had to shut the door to concentrate. After you went downstairs, he'd greet you and then start licking. Let's say he wants in the bedroom. You let him inside, he jumps up, and starts licking his paws. Play with him? He'll go for a couple minutes then lick his paws. And you can't get him to stop, either. He will not be distracted from licking his paws no matter what you do. Not even food takes him away. You can even pick him up and he'll keep trying to lick. |

I think i've shared this story on here before. Not odd, but i thought it was pretty damn cool at the time.
About 8 years ago I had a cat named ****er. (My black roommate named him that and it just kinda stuck). Anyway, i was chillin' on my couch smoking from my bong and some bird flies in. At the time, i had one of those big ass 5 piece entertainment centers with the double glass towers etc (you know what im talking about). The bird flies in, and all of a sudden my cat comes screaming in from outside, jumps to the top the entertainment center (damn near the Ceiling), jumps off of the entertainment center and catches the bird in mid air and then sprints outside. I was like....Whoa. It happened in a matter of 10 seconds. I was high as **** and thought that was the most amazing thing ever. I grew a new appreciation for cats that day. |
