When it comes down to it, all you really need to understand to follow hockey without getting too confused is icing and offsides. Honorable mention to understanding that you can only hit a guy when he's in control of the puck and that fighting is allowed, but only if both guys are into it.

The rest of the rules are good to know obviously, but penalties are pretty intuitive overall:
  • You can't run into the goalie when he's trying to make a save.
  • You can't grab a hold of a guy and pull him down.
  • You can't whack a guy in the hands to make him lose control of his stick.
  • You can't trip a guy.

BUt man, with all that said, last night even blew my mind. I was at TMobile arena all day and through out the game and I saw maybe 10 Kings fans, the entire time, anywhere. It was crazy. I knoew about the pledge the fans took regarding not selling tickets to LA fans but wow, we held to it.

Look, I dont know how far were gonna go, but no one thought wed go this far...so lets see. Its a helluva ride regardless
Football, baseball, etc. have their merits in the regular season. No question. But nothing beats playoff hockey. It's the best of all sports in my opinion.

Opened a Dragon's Milk for the occasion, which I believe is from around Thanksgiving when I shipped some back from KC... and hey, 1-0.

Ive been to about 6 games this season and still dont totally understand the game but the one thing I do love is how UNCOMPLICATED the game is. Its easy to understand enough for novices like me to enjoy the game. Plus, I love when they knock the shit out of each other. Hockey is fun to watch for sure.

No one and I mean NO ONE thought theyd get this far. I work for the radio station that is media partners with the team and even we were like "Dont talk shit when the team is 3-50"

After Oct1, and the team started the year like they did, we still didn't think it would get this far, but here we are. The one thing we all knew in this city is that the team would be supported because this city is farrrrr more than people who dont live here know. Everyone on the outside only knows us as THE STRIP, we know we are more than that and weve shown it, not just with OCT1 but with this team and the city rallying behind them.

BUt man, with all that said, last night even blew my mind. I was at TMobile arena all day and through out the game and I saw maybe 10 Kings fans, the entire time, anywhere. It was crazy. I knoew about the pledge the fans took regarding not selling tickets to LA fans but wow, we held to it.

yeah l never gave two shits about hockey in the past. Went to several games during the Lightings run to the Stanley Cup. Understood the rules a lot better. Didn’t go much last year because life got in the way. Went to some games this year. Always have fun. The team is very fan friendly.

Well, it was pretty entertaining, at least... not saying much that it's been one of the better games so far.

Speaking of the Knights, I was pretty surprised at ticket prices when I looked a few months ago.... granted, the Yotes have $150+ lower level tickets for some games, but IIRC Vegas was like 3 times that.

Well, the Avs didn't look outmatched, so that's encouraging. Gonna have to solve Rinne, though.
