The Chiefs are simply built to beat the Patriots’ in playoffs, says Fox Sports writer

"If the Chiefs have home field advantage in playoffs, they are going to Super Bowl"

Sweet words to the Homer in me. But, alas, they are just words.

BY PETE GRATHOFF

If you’re wondering if the 7-2 Chiefs might be flying under the radar with national media, that’s not the case.

Among AFC teams, the Chiefs have the second-best chance to win the Super Bowl, according to fivethirtyeight.com. That 15 percent chance is just behind the Patriots (17 percent). The Chiefs are the top AFC team in Sports Illustrated’s power rankings. They are the second-best AFC team behind the Patriots, according to CBS Sports.

On Thursday, Peter Schrager, Senior National Football Writer for Fox Sports, said only one team in the AFC could beat out the Patriots for a spot in the Super Bowl: the Chiefs.

Schrager noted that the Chiefs have won 17 of their last 19 regular-season games and their home-field advantage is huge.

“The Chiefs do not lose at home,” he said. “They are on a 10-game winning streak in Arrowhead, which is the longest active streak in the entire league.”

Schrager says if the Chiefs win home-field advantage through the playoffs, they will make the Super Bowl.

“The Chiefs are simply built to beat the Patriots,” Schrager said.

Here is more on what Schrager said.

I am still favoring Tom Brady over Alex Smith and Bill Belichick over Andy Reid in a playoff game until proven otherwise.

Err one game at a time. I'd just like the offense to look half way decent first before we start sucking each other's dicks

Seriously, what EXACTLY do the Pats have that can dominate our defense?

They have an insanely good tight end -- who will get some catches but we're so much better at guarding tight ends than everybody else in the league.

Edelman is the only thing that could give us problems. We have no real answer for him -- everything he does well, we struggle with in the secondary.

Brady is Brady, of course, and can negate anything your defense does well, but we're going to have two of the best passrushers in the NFL coming at him.

The New England defense is dramatically overrated -- they traded two of their best talents away this year. The Chiefs can nickel-and-dime them.

If the Chiefs can put up 24 points, it's over.

Yeah, me too, but I like BB/Brady over Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez in the playoffs one year until that didn't work out so well. And Brady >>> Eli Manning, but that hasn't worked out well twice, so...

Chiefs offense can barely put up 7 points a game lately.

Starting C-OUT
Starting RG-OUT
Best WR-leg injury. Could barely run routes
Houston-8 snaps. ****ed ACL
Tamba-broken hand and swollen knees. Not healthy at all
Best RB-OUT---ACL
2nd string RB-OUT
3rd string RB-OUT
Nickel CB-OUT

It would have been nice to play them with any of our best and most needed players available.
