Per keg's comment, I did a project in rural West Virginia many years ago and drove around the state doing interviews. I've got a conductor friend that worked for a short while in Knoxville, Tennessee. She said there was a Kroger grocery store on the far side of town in which plenty of inbreds could be seen daily.

It was nicknamed "Halloween Kroger".
