I really wonder how much the issue is figuring out what to do with tyreek. Now that the possibility is back that we may extend tyreek long term, we have to figure out the best way to structure two very big long term deals together.

They aren't going to extend Hill this offseason.. just forget about it.

Of course, they may need to tag him next season though.

this is just the way the NFL does contracts. The only thing your get is guaranteed money. Jones blows out a knee in week 2, he doesnt get paid. A reasonable view. The Chiefs paid Houston best in the league money, hurt his knee was just average from that point on.

It’s not personal, it’s business.

Damien Williams averaged under 4 YPC for every season of his career before he came to KC and averaged over 5.

But forgive me for thinking Hyde could possibly improve his significantly in this offense

Hydes role can change to being a bowling ball runner instead of being an every down back. I think he beats out darrel Williams and he helps plug a gap for us. But i could see Darwin making Hyde mostly unnecessary.

Dude if there is one thing that is I arguable, it’s that Andy Reid gets the best out of his RBs. I have no doubt Hyde could flourish with him, as can Damien, Darwin, and JW.

So, is there any chance they've decided they don't want to actually pay him what he's asking?

I'm all about keeping guys in house, first off. But, say he's asking for an increase in Aaron Donald's deal. You've gotta have a point where you gotta stop, right?

Judging by the way the NFL has gone lately, no. Every above average player seems to get a record deal when their contract is up.

I think the question you have to ask is if Chris Jones is one of 4 most valuable players on your team because counting Pat’s contract, you could likely fit 3 other big contracts on the cap.

I would say that yes, without a doubt he is one of the 4 most valuable.
