YMMV: 22" Weber Kettle for $99 @ Lowes

Thought I'd throw this out there - maybe I just got lucky, or maybe I can pass a great deal on to anyone in the market for a new kettle.

Went in today to take advantage of the annual Kingsford sale and decided to pick up a new kettle. Was fully prepared to pay $149. There were no signs showing a lower price or any kind of sale.

Got to the register and it rang up $99. If you've been thinking about a new grill, might want to head to your local store and see if you get lucky.

Yeah they've been $99 for awhile at Mal-Mart

Nice grills, my favorite.

After all that, I think I just grabbed the wrong box.

Think I grabbed the 22" standard and not the Premium. I meant to pick up the premium - my current kettle has the high capacity ash catcher, and our backyard is a wind tunnel - the standard ash catcher is a deal breaker.

Move along, nothing to see here.

I need to get one of those ash catchers, my weber has the standard "plate" catcher. Pretty much worthless.

The Performer Platinum is the way to go, if you have the money. I'll tell you what, adding that built in propane starter for the charcoal makes things a ton more convenient. And I was surprised at the sturdiness and quality of the workspace.

That's my next purchase for sure. I'm tired of using chimney starters. Match light and lighter fluid (same shit) sucks

I already returned the classic for the Premium.

I have the money, but probably wouldn't have spent the extra for the Platinum anyway. Looking at an extra $300 by the time I get a cover for it. (already had an extra cover for the new Premium)

Yup.

I passed on the propane starter because I have a small gas grill I use on weeknights with a propane side-burner that I'll start the coals with before I dump them.

The performer series is a great rig.
