Billy Beane Ball, KC Style?

SPARQ, Sabremetrics... whatever you want to call it, I thought this was a killer fanpost from Everest with pleeenty to discuss, plenty here have already looked at it I'm sure, figured it would've been posted by now

Lots of takes to agree/disagree with, plenty of numbers to dissect, does it represent Dorsey? is this data collection new age style the future of football?

Should've been posted by now

Worth posting, if someone (looking at you Laz!) would just be so kind as to lay it out for everyone that hasnt read it yet

I think its a good basic analogy. Dorsey is the king of these bargain barrel guys, has proven it so far, and it seems like he is making similar choices this year.

I would really like to know what metrics Dorsey does use, and how much is just instinctual.

No shit. Billy Beane's Moneyball teams have never even MADE IT to the World Series, much less win it.

Bill Beane is the most overrated GM in baseball history.

Don't you think some of that has to do with the lack of parity in baseball?

the Royals just went to 2 world series. There is nothing but parity now lol and I can guarantee you that just like theres only a few teams that havent made a super bowl now, there are going to be the bottom 16 teams in baseball starting to make post season over the next few years..or teams that havent been in a long time..actually theres been plenty of parity since 2001 with the odd teams getting in the series

97 Cleveland
98 Padres
Diamond backs
Marlins
Angels
White Sox
Tigers
Rockies
Rays
Phillies
Rangers
Royals

The numbers for Conley and LDT really do stand out, we're just scratching the surface with both of them IMO, I fully expect a big jump from both this year

I just cant say enough good things about Dorsey, the guy has a legitimate, well thought out plan in place and he sticks to it... its SO refreshing to feel this confident in our leadership after Carl and the fat idiot who shall go unnamed
