I'm well versed on Cake. I had all their albums upon release up until Pressure Chief.

Maybe not so much weird as different but Alabama 3 is a fav of mine. They have a lot of different sounds and you probably know them best if you ever watched The Sopranos as they sang the opening song Woke Up This Morning.

This is a bit hit or miss with me. I liked a couple of the tracks (loved the second one).

Wow. I thought I listened to some weird shit. You guys are off the damn walls. Where did you find this stuff? I'm going to spend a lot of time looking through this.

Direkshun, I apparently listen to pretty mainstream shit, but here are my off the beaten path recommendations...

Taking Back Sunday - All their albums are good, but I like the first and second ones the best.

OAR - I'm sure you know them

If you haven't checked out the Piano Guys, do it.

You're probably not into Country but check out Turnpike Troubadours Diamonds and Gasoline album. Along with Jason Boland Pearl Snaps.

I'll do some more thinking on it. I'm sure there is some more stuff that I could come up with.

These are both excellent tracks! The second one had a warm IDM vibe to it.

The first was just an indulgent mess.

Moar!

All great stuff. Thank you.

That Lionel Hampton song kicked seven levels of ass. Do you have any more you'd recommend?

Daniel Johnston. He's a folk singing Christian fundamentalist with Bi-polar. I really like his early stuff, he played his music on old out-of-tune pianos and guitars. He would record a bunch of songs on to cassette tapes and pass them out. Then, he would do it again because he didn't have a way to dub.

I hadn't heard of him until I saw this documentary about him.

That is an extraordinary song.

Fantastic recommendation.
