USA Today predicts Chiefs at 4-12 for 2014

I could see it happening but really 6-8 wins seems pretty doable.

AFC West

Broncos 12-4 (2): Could be better than 2013 team even if wins and offensive output dip. But schedule is murderous.

Chargers 8-8: Last year's schedule allowed late-season charge. This year's could easily produce late-season slide.

Chiefs 4-12: Tight salary cap meant crippling free agent defections, and they didn't sufficiently reload in draft.

Raiders 3-13: Best thing influx of over-the-hill vets can do is change culture. Carr, Mack promise brighter days ahead.

We play the top 4 teams in the league from last year. I don't see any of them suddenly going to $3it.

We'll probably lose to 3 NFCW teams and I think at best we win 3 of our division games.

That's six losses right there...

7-9 is my pick too.

History shows they won't be the top 4 teams again. It's just how the league works. We go through this every year. This isn't NBA or even the pre salary cap NFL. Every body is flawed and a few injuries away from a top 5 pick.

The key to the season is the Chiefs need to win more division games than they lose. It's been long in coming and IF they manage that, they can level the tough out-of-division schedule a bit.

The 49'ers, Seahawks, and Donks were in the playoffs and SB contenders the last two years. The Pats may not make the big game but they're in the playoffs every damned year.

There's no reason to suspect any of those 4 will fall off save Injuries...

We didn't win 3 division games last year and me thinking we will this year is probably a bit homer. It'd be an improvement anyway...

Yep. Ask yourself how long has it been since they won at least 3 division games. Now ask yourself how long it's been since they had a winning division record. They're way overdue...Gonna need to do it this year because of the tough non-divisional opponent schedule.

Anyone over the age of 25 should realize the importance of an OL.
I'm not saying it's not important. I'm saying it's an obsession with some posters around here.

We've brought in enough guards to notice no decline in the position from last year to this year. Stephenson will be a better RT than Fisher.

If Eric Fisher is worth two sacks of squirrel shit, our OL will be improved from last year

You're wrong about the Guards for starters. Sure the Chiefs brought in bodies, but if they suck, they'll just add to the problem. Fisher needs to be a better LT than Albert / Stephenson was last year, or are you calling their play "squirrel shit.?" Allen is terrible, and won't be bailed out as much this season. You're discounting how important continuity is on an OL - the Chiefs are going with a majority of folks at new positions this season. The whole left side of the line is scary. Far too many things have to work out perfectly in order for the line to be as "good" as last year much less be improved over last year. You're missing the boat with your opinion on this one.
