Who is the worst player on the Chiefs?

A post in another thread got me thinking about this today. We all know certain positions get more blame than others because they impact the team more. However, if you took away that factor, which Chiefs' player is the worst at doing his specific job?

I'll list the majority of the players that see a significant amount of playing time in a poll (gonna take a few minutes). If you do not see the player you believe to be the worst, please mention them in your post.

I'd never quantify Smith as the worst, but an argument could be made that he has the most negative impact.

He's an average QB. Not good, but not bad. We've had "bad" and he's no where close to that.

That said, is he good enough to win a SB? Not without a ton of help.

Thats what I was thinking. Or, Who has the most negative effect on the team/game throughout the season ?
Who has had the most significant negative effect on the outcome of the games.

We have reached the end of year 4, so an honest question is in order... do you believe that Smith can win a Super Bowl?

If you believe that, I'd love to hear what else needs to be in place around him in order to help him accomplish that goal

What else should KC do for Alex Smith to optimize his performance?

That wasn't the question in the poll, or the point of my post.

He certainly does have the most negative impact. That's why I stressed taking that out of the equation in the OP.

I was just thinking about which player isnthe worst at doing his job, regardless ofnthe amount of overall impact.

You're right of course, but it was my question and I'd like to see it answered truthfully

I was ALL about one Alex D Smith most of these first three years, the cracks began to show towards the end of last year but I soldiered on

This year the cracks widened by midseason, as he turned in one mediocre performance after another... some of those performances were wins, and some were losses

Yet we kept winning thanks to timely turnovers and Tyreek Hill, so I soldiered on

But the fact remains that Smith has needed every facet of this team to be clicking to eek out wins against lesser teams... a franchise QB in todays league isnt paid to be a caretaker, we all know this

I have been on Smiths side throughout most of this, I laughed in his haters faces for 2+ years, he...

Brought back winning ways

Brought back winning expectations

Brought us back from the brink, KC are no longer mere afterthoughts when the "experts" talk football

Yet the fact remains... that he isnt a guy to be relied upon when the top defenses dial in, early season Chargers teams arent a good measure of a QBs gut check level

Face the music, Mr bass thumper... Smiff has hit the wall, he has taken us as far as he is going to take us

Theres no shame in admitting that, admitting that puts neither you nor I out of anything... fact is, his limitations meet their match when faced off against the best defenses in the playoffs

We thank him for his contributions, then let him go and look towards the future with no hard feelings

He has 60 million dollars, let him go knowing that he will live better than you or I could ever dream about until the day he dies... and please stop being so pissed off at people ready to see some REAL ****ing arm talent in there taking full advantage of the Tyreek Hills, Travis Kelce's and Jeremy Maclins on this team

Smith got us here, but he is now holding us back

Ford had 13 sacks in the regular season...3 of which were called back bc of stupid penalties that had nothing to do with the play.

He also had a sack in the playoff game. Get off his back

All these things that Easy outlined for you below?

I knew from DAY ONE. Knowing this, you should probably re-evaluate your take on which of us is the "dumb" one.

So yes, I can and I DO believe that Smith is the worst player on the roster, certainly the worst player on the offense. He has completed his mission of helping to pull KC from the gutter, and has now become the offensive albatross which hangs upon the neck of the entire team.
He is completely incapable of being a part of taking the Chiefs offense to the next level, has had three opportunities to prove his doubters wrong, and has failed miserably each time.
The Chiefs would be absolute fools to continue on with him beyond 2017.

I'm thinking about more than just on field. He's a good guy and a hard worker and I actually like him as a person but his contract is an albatross. He's been holding this team back in a variety of ways, whether it's his performance or his price.

This year in particular anyone with any degree of objectivity should at least be able to entertain the idea that they won 12 games despite him. He didn't play an entire half of quality football in more than a handful of games, and never came close to a complete 3 quarter performance, much less 4. The entire season as a whole was a mirage made up of historically unlikely wins, culminating in a playoff game that was a blueprint for how the season should have actually gone. The Chiefs of 2016 were a team that overcame an inadequate offense lead by a below average (statistically speaking) qb with miraculous returns and unlikely bounces. Until they finally slipped on that banana peel in a game that actually mattered.

It's a team game. We didn't lose all our games just because of Alex Smith. We can win the SB with him we just need to upgrade a as many of our weaknesses as we can.

Ware is clearly an average RB and nothing special. I'd say the same thing about our OL although they did improve this year. Our WRs aren't that great, Maclin had a horrible year and Hill is still learning. Kelce can get better as well. He can't keep his cool and he drops too many balls.

Our defense was good but there's room for improvement in that area too. They give up way too many yards and the pass rush is extremely inconsistent.

The playoff game was a show of all of this teams flaws and it goes way beyond Alex Smith.

I know it is hard for some of you to understand but the QB isn't the only position on the field. Alex will be back for at least one more year so Reid and Dorsey need to look to upgrade all areas and not just the QB.
