****Official 2019 NFL Draft Discussion****

Post any interesting thoughts - feel free to create a new thread that flows with the timing of the actual draft.

A few of my thoughts.

I'll say we get Byron Murphy first pick and then possibly manage to get Justice Hill later than expected due to last year's injury.

Players I wouldn't mind:

-- Ed Oliver (duh)
-- Nasir Adderley (again, 'duh')
-- M. Brown
-- AJ Brown
-- Hakeem Butler
-- Rock Ya Sin
-- Fant (doubt it)
-- Hockenson (don't see Brett drafting 1st round)
-- Deebo Samuel (not at 29 but should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?
-- Justice Hill (absolutely should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?

Let's talk about it!

If the Chiefs are “all-in” as you say, then they will deal for Frank Clark.

Nobody here will like it, because it will cost their 1st rounder at minimum.

How are the Rams too all in? Their moves last year got them to a superbowl, and they still have a ton of talent and added well this offseason (Weddle, Matthews, bringing Fowler back) AND they still have 7 picks in the draft?

That being said, I don't want the Chiefs to be all in, I want them to be a competitor in the superbowl for a decade. It did kind of sound from Veachs comments in his presser that he doesn't consider that they are going all in.

I don’t think they’ll get the 1st rounder they’re looking for and I sure hope the Chiefs don’t feel desperate enough to pay that price.

Lot of laziness out there on the mocks right now. Out of six mocks viewed, I have one CB, one DE, and one OT.

The other three are a Center at 29. I would really hate to have to torch all of this good will I've been working up towards Reid and Veach, so they best just leave that fatty alone.

No...

There IS NO "but Mahomes/protect Mahomes". Nope. Does not compute, does not exist in the first round. Go get your new fatboy in round three like a smart boy does, please.
No excuses. None.

What if the pick is Lonnie Johnson?

Wouldn’t love it by any means, but Spags has my trust with DB’s and House obviously knows him very well.

It’s a realistic possibility with all of the noise about him possibly going in the 1st. Same with Thornhill, Ya-Sin, etc.

I really hope they don't take a fatty in the 1st, but I think most mock drafters don't spend any real time considering trades, so it's pretty realistic to consider the DEs and CBs worth taking being gone at 29.

I would have expected to see lots of mocks with a safety at 29 for the Chiefs as a result, or just having us way overdraft a 2nd round CB instead.

PFF's 3 round mock has

1. Amani Oruwariye, CB
2. Andy Isabella, WR
2. David Long, CB
3. Blake Cashman, LB.

I guess I wouldn't hate that.

Prior to Mahomes, every Mockerfocker under the sun felt it was their Holy sworn duty to mock the Chiefs a new O-line fatty every year. You could set your fat, ****ing clock by it. It was sad.

And now it has returned.

Scott Wright was mentioning that the Chiefs are probably targeting Kelvin Harmon in the 2nd round.

Also said that Jeffrey Simmons is already doing some stuff and could be available by Week 6.
