Tips on how to Speed, I wanna go fast.

I'm going to start going to Mayetta KS (just north of Topeka) once a week or so for some stuff. The highways there are pretty desolate, and going 90mph instead of 74 mph could lower my commute by almost a half an hour.

Any tips or scanners to use to avoid or locate the police using radar? With todays technologies & up to the minute information is it possible to significantly lower your risk of getting a ticket?

I usually drive like an old man, and whenever I do speed I get nailed. But then I see these people going 20 mph faster than me that never seem to get any tickets. Wondering if there is a trick I'm missing out on

No one is saying that it is OK to drive slowly and back up traffic. You are trying to argue that you should be able to speed in the passing lane.

If our posted speed limits made sense, then I would say it isn't appropriate to speed in the passing lanes. Our posted speed limits are arbitrary and outdated.

Tractor trailers alone make the vast majority of interstate speed limits perfectly permissible. Unless your grandma is in a diabetic coma, I think you can live going 70 MPH.

Yeah, and too bad they made the shitty version of the Autobahn when they designed the interstate system... 2 lanes, not 3, plus bad roads don't help. And even the 3 lane highways around town suck since it's so easy for someone going 2-3mph over to stick themselves in the far left lane (I love driving in places where they have 6+ lanes across (not including exit lanes)... only the speeders get 5 or 6 lanes over).

More to your point though, I read once that any given road is rated for what a car can handle, and speed limits woefully fall short of those limits.... so yeah, that sucks.

Call it what you want, but they sure as hell don't make sense... 75mph is parts of Nebraska, Iowa was like 60 at one time not that long ago and now it's finally 70, trucks can only go 55 in Illinois and 65 for cars (iirc) which makes it a huge pain in the ass for everyone, Detroit has posted speed limits of 70mph in the city, which is unheard of around here...... sure seems arbitrary.
