Yeah, it's a struggle to separate the performance from the show. The Newsroom reliably pushes my Sorkin snark button, but Daniels did admirably with what he was given. It's a testament to his performance that my critiques of the show are never critical of his story line unless it's the writing.

Harrelson and McConaughey should have been nominated as a pair because they both deserve to win.

I see those two cancelling each other out and Cranston getting best actor to show some Breaking Bad love.

As far as Aaron Paul vs Peter Dinklage, although I love Jesse, Tyrion wins that one. His trial/imprisonment story arc showed how great of an actor he is (again).

I would have swapped him out for James Spader on Blacklist. He is amazing on the show.

One of these things is not like the other...

OUTSTANDING COMEDY
The Big Bang Theory
Louie
Modern Family
Orange Is the New Black
Silicon Valley
Veep

Orange in the comedy category--lame.

And the actress who plays Piper being up for Best Actress in a comedy--to the extent Orange can even be considered a "comedy," she ain't even one of the funny ones.

She's had a couple of stellar SNLs, and I laugh every time I watch this

Makes no sense.

I do agree that they both deserve it. Matthew was a bit better, I think.

Bold pick there, OTW, with Kimmel.

Not only does the academy or whomever adore the Fallon show (6 noms), but they've handed over the award to Stewart/Colbert for 11 years, and neither show has dipped in quality.

I actually think the Daily Show stepped it up this year. They're my pick.

I thought Jim Parsons was the worst part of The Normal Heart. That guy doesn't seem to have much in the way of range. Matt Bomer was great, although I'm already a fan of his from the first season of Chuck and from White Collar.

Hopefully Allison Tolman gets it for Fargo. I thought she was really great, particularly in that she was basically a newcomer in a leading role, and holding her own with name actors. You don't see that often.

Correct. It was Sheldon talking about AIDS and dropping F bombs.
