Love her daily. Tell her daily. Flirt with her. Fight clean, sex dirty. Go on dates. Open her car door. Make her proud. Listen to her. Lean on her when you must. Buy her some flowers when appropriate. Buy her flowers whenever. Take care of her. Be a great father. Take care of yourself. Acknowledge her. Be her best friend. Be dependable and believe in your relationship.
Do that and a prenup is not necessary. There shouldn't be a reason to split. /lessons learned |

Just be yourself man. No need to force things. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. People aren't meant to be monogamous.

I try to turn my GF on every day in some way. I can't describe how much I love and dig her. And worry not about cheating. Because I give her no reason to and the thought never crosses my mind I assure you. I came to this after being cheated on. I asked myself 'why would she do that?' But deep down I knew. Things got stale. Last edited by eDave; 05-05-2016 at 02:56 AM.. |

I wouldn't enter into any kind of agreement committing me making payments without a deal that outlines the terms of those payments. Prenups are fine -- just ring an attorney who has experience in preparing them. |

2 rules if she is a Millennial
1. Don't get married without a prenup 2. If you do not have a prenup, do not get married Its that simple. That may even apply if she is not a Millenial, but most 100% definitely if she is. |

Sometimes the accumulated wisdom of CP is impressive. Other times, not so much.
So yes, you absolutely SHOULD get a pre-nup. They generally ARE enforceable, but you definitely want to get a good lawyer who specializes in family law and knows the jurisdiction you live in. That's the legal end. On the more business/practical end, you should have a discussion with her about money and finance. The fact that her family has no money either suggests at least the possibility that she thinks money is there to be spent. If that isn't how you view it (and you clearly don't), then you're going to have problems in the marriage over money. As you may know, money and finance are one of the biggest reasons for divorce. You should consider a budget system for her, and you, which includes something to help her pay down her debt. If you're thinking that her debt is 100% her problem even after marriage, etc., then likely you shouldn't be getting married. Marriage is nothing if not a partnership, and you can't really say "hey partner, that is 100% your problem, not mine", especially if you want to have kids and she will need to make career sacrifices etc. (which seems likely given your income potential etc.). Good luck and Congratulations (maybe)!!
