Bungie Destiny

Didnt see this posted anywhere.

Bungie's Destiny Will be Revealed in 5 Days

Mark your calendars for this Sunday, February 17.

by Lucas M. Thomas
February 12, 2013

Yesterday we brought to you the news that a reveal of Bungie's next project, Destiny, was being hinted at for this upcoming Monday, February 18 – an augmented-reality game on the studio's website seemed to be pointing toward that date. Well, we won't have to wait quite that long. It's now been announced that Destiny will be unveiled one day earlier than we thought, on this Sunday, February 17.
An official Facebook page went live today and made that announcement as its first order of business. A Twitter account for the game has also been activated as well.
And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, have a first look at the game's just-revealed logo as well:

Looks decent.. but after watching a few days of it on twitch I doubt I buy it for PC. Definitely cant see spending 500 bucks on it :/

You mean Buck, huh?

I didn't purchase it just for this game, but I played the game a bit and it's pretty cool, except for having to use a controller.

Didn't you know that you can only play Destiny on the PS4. You totally can't go out and buy other games.

The game is well worth the money. It's expansive, immersive, and down right fun to play (especially with friends).

I will admit while I was playing it I kept thinking how shitty the graphics were used to the PC games I'm used to. I also will always buy the PC version first over a PS4 version, but it's nice to lay in bed and play games sometimes.

The hate is from the people that play it on PS4. Not just a bunch of grumpy PC gamers. I already know thats gonna be out there, but im talking about the actual game. I keep see'ing all boses are similar, and they were hoping for something special and they didnt get it. Maybe that part is whats being held against the game.

If there's anything that is bad about this game.....it was that it was so ****ing hyped before it came out. No way it could live up to those expectations.

This.

Had it been not been a 3 year hype marketing campaign, it might fair a lot better critically just for fun factor.

I bought a PS4 to play it. 50 hours later this week and I have zero regrets. 'course I was sold on it in July during the beta. I was going to return the console then if the game didn't do it for me. It did.

Speaking of the beta, a lot of the complaints I've seen are similar (or verbatim) to what was said then, and it makes me think that a lot of the people commenting haven't even gotten off earth, regardless of whether they say they have or not. And that's fine, if you don't love a game in the first 8 hours or so you're probably not going to love it after that, either. But in a general sense, most of the issues I've seen people have I just don't get. The story is fine, the voice acting is fine, the game itself is fun as hell to play and the grind is exactly what it's supposed to be for a shooter/MMO hybrid. In fact I think some of the things like the four vanguard strike tiers and the daily heroic story missions are handled better than they have been in some MMO's I've played.

I think in the end it probably boils down to what negative game reaction always is: a combination of paid (by rival companies) negative comments on social media (and metacritic), a core group of loud-mouthed gamers who bash everything (the guys who populate r/gaming and shhhh), and then a very real group of people with legitimate concerns. And then you have all the people who actually like the game who are too busy playing it to get on social media to talk about it.

You use it to level up legendary weapons. Ascendent Shard's are used to level up legendary armor.

Who give a a shit you either like it or you don't I'm struggling but only because I suck at shooters without aim assist. Other than that I love the game. My oldest boys can't get enough of it.

I think a large part of the hate is how you are still describing the game.

There is ZERO mmo in this game. None. There is no massive multiplayer aspect. People read that from you and online sources then log in and go wtf?

The game has rpg elements, that it is.

As for storytelling, I can see why they are mad. They are probably comparing to borderlands 2. Since that is the most similar game.

Multiplayer in the end might be the savings grace of the game if they balance the ttk and weapons.

The fun thing about this game, I am hoping borderlands steals the weapon leveling system. I prefer it to the cod style.

I would say 6 or 7 is about right for me.

Keep in mind, they are going to be adding on and changing the game as they go. What you see now will be the same as what we will see in a year or so. From what I understand they will putting on expansion packs 1 to 2 times per year.
