Adrian Peterson Indicted

Reckless/negligent injury to a child. Indicted.

This league may not be able to sustain too many more of these black eyes. It's a mess.

Yes. Why should you decide they shouldn't use a switch as long as they use it responsibly?

Its not your right to tell them 4 generations before them have been wrong when its worked for them.

How about we compromise and agree to a 7 day waiting period and a background check for all switch purchases?

Sugaring wounds used to "work", too. Doesn't mean that it's an acceptable practice in light of modern knowledge of antimicrobial treatments.

I can see the arguments on both sides but I refuse to label someone who spanks/corporal punishment to a child as some kind of monster. Everyone is different and some kids are harder to get through to.

Maybe you should have a few kids before you get on your high horse.......
FWIW, there's a difference between disciplining a kid with a spanking and hitting hard enough to leave marks or bruises. my mom worked for CPS, and basically the rule was spanking was frowned upon but it's the parents' decision. CPS only gets involved if you're hitting the kids in the face or hitting them hard enough to where you're leaving bruises. So it's one thing to spank your kid, it's a different thing to beat the shit out your kid.

Beating a child with a tool isn't responsible at all. There's no way to use a switch responsibly.

It's excessive and barbaric.

Thank goodness I have great parents.

well from my perspective, my old man grew up on a Farm where what is not 79tth and Quivira (here locally); so the term 'switch' was familiar to us after hearing grandparents talk about it etc. my old man, however, never spanked me or applied a switch. I think it might be a cultural thing.

my mom on the otherhand....psychotic bitch.

Do you need more longitudinal studies, because I can easily provide them?

This analogy is so appropriate. I am surprised you didn't bring up leeches.

Which ironically also has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Do you think as a society we are learning to be better people? Really?

Exactly. I prefer subtler methods:

the new ways arent effective at all. ALL ie ver hear from everyone is kids are getting worse and worse. All i hear is kids tlaking back to their parents. Parents putting them on time out they dont hit them though.

I dont need a study, i know what i see. This isnt just from 1 or 2 people, its virtually every friend and family kid i have seen today. There are the occasional respectful kids while the others arent.

Some of the shit i hear kids say to their parents, im like i'd NEVER say that shit, i'd get my face ****ing slapped. lol
