Washer & Dryer set

I am trying to find a good store that would have a new washer & dryer set for my mother for Christmas, but I am having trouble finding a decent store where you can look at new washer & dryer sets

Other than looking at Home Depot & Lowes, what are the other locations near Olathe, Kansas or south (Mainly Gardner &/or Ottawa) that would be reasonable combo of washer & dryer for $650 range?

You might want to give Alexander and Ray's TV And Appliance a shot (they're in Olathe). They've been around for a long time, so that's speaks well. Their Speed Queen washers (top loaded) will last forever, but they carry virtually all brands and are VERY knowledgeable. Highly Recommended.

For the OP, check Amazon as well, a lot of that stuff is free shipping, but I have idea if their prices are any good compared to what you can get from a local outfit.

I do know I got my best deal from Amazon on a 65" big screen a couple years ago and saved a couple hundred bucks.

Yes, that is true and it is part of my concern, but on the other hand, the set that my mom currently has, the washer has no lid and the dryer squeaks like a big mouse orgy, so... I'm confident that whatever we get, it's still going to be an hell of an improvement one way or another.

As for the others who have responded, thank you. I have looked at Sears, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc. I was wondering if there were any local business that I may have overlooked that I want to give consideration to, as well.

Yes, there is a outlet store here in KCMO and there's another one in Lenexa, I believe. The problem with those stores is that their prices aren't great, from my own experience.

That was going to be my question - $650 for a set or no more than $650 for each individual item?

If 650 is the limit you're wanting to spend, forget the chain stores and look to local repair shops that sell refurbished items.

Best Buy is just as good as Sears for appliances at this point.

We bought a Samsung electric W&D set in May, and they've been great, but they were around $1200 as a set.

I'd almost tell you to buy them a washer one year and a dryer the next and actually get quality rather than scrimping.
