Alex Smith definitely understands the west-coast offense better than Brees.

Look at this video. Look how Brees is clearly hesitant and doesn't demonstrate the in-depth understanding of WC terminology. Doesn't even look at the snag concept called. Alex would have thrown the flat off snag better than you could ever believe, boys! Much safer and efficient than the low-percentage "Y-Fade".

Again, it's not white/black.

You have $#it WR's, $3it O line, and the combo of Alex being able to escape and the Alex that refuses to throw the ball away and prefers sacks.

Alex eats sacks. Always has.

They put him in a bad position from year one. The marriage never made sense.

Alex's best years were behind an all star O line, with a great run-first attack, super talented TE, and a dominating defense.

We traded for him and let our line go to $#it, gave him no TE, became a pass-first team, and often forgot we had a running game.

Why would you trade for a QB knowing what he's good at and what he's not and put him in a position where his weaknesses are accentuated?...

He's clearly losing his touch. He missed 5,000 yards for the first time in 4 years last year. Alex is 100% the better choice. He's younger, more athletic, and just about to break out.

He just needs a better offensive line, better receivers, better TEs, a better defense, and better coaching.

Chiefs fix those things and Alex will deliver SB after SB.
