What would this team be like with Teddy Bridgewater instead of Alex Smith?

Well?

The Chiefs would have the possibility of being contenders for years down the line with Bridgewater at QB assuming he develops properly.

Instead, their run as contenders relies solely on the defense being one of the greatest of all ****ing time and Jamaal Charles playing like he's 23 years old over the next two years. And after that, then the rebuild will have to start, where there will be the inevitable dilemma of whether or not to take a chance and draft a QB earlier than the fourth ****ing round or go with yet another retread that's some other team's backup.

It might be five or more years until the Chiefs get a playoff win if they can't get it done this year. To say nothing of a superbowl because that's just not likely either.

But hey. The Chiefs went 2-14 three years ago. To expect a playoff win so soon after that kind of disaster is just insanity.

I wonder if they don't see the past two seasons as indicators that this team is better than it was a scant two seasons ago where they were the worst team in the league and could be considered one of the worst teams in history. Where they were coming off of a decade of being the NFL doormat.

But **** NO!!!!! We continue to see little bitches crying up a storm around here because we aren't better than 11-5, 9-7 and a playoff appearance over the past two years coming right off of the worst decade in the team's history.

LITTLE. ****ING. BITCHES.
All it says to me is coaching is really, really important, and the difference between a 2-14 team and a 9-7 team isn't very much in terms of talent. I really don't even have a problem with trading for smith. He's an upgrade from what they had. But tying yourself to him long term isn't a good idea, and they have needed to have an after alex plan in development and they havent done that. Bridgewater was a perfect opportunity. Instead, we have to wonder if chase daniel is any worse than alex smith, and smart fans know he is not.

Bottom line is this. We have a SB caliber defense. If the OL and Smith don't raise their game up and intensity up we are third in this division. Smith needs to stop looking like he is nervous and get the ball out.

Sure, I know that in some fans eyes that we should have won the Super Bowl the past two seasons - because we were so ****ing good in 2012 that it was our god given right to win the Super Bowl the next season.

in other words...they went to a superbowl

and we have nothing...jesus, we can't even win our division

and you think it's a great trade...because you're a chiefs fan

i'd trade a superbowl appearance for decades of failure, but that's just me...i don't feel obligated to care about mediocre QBs just because they wear a chiefs uniform...but hey! Alex lead us to losses in 4 of our last 6 games, costing us the playoffs

he failed to beat the 49ers, who you think are terrible

he also threw 3 ints against one the league's worst teams, costing us the playoffs

and you think he's awesome....noted

In reply to the OP: in much better shape vs the cap and with a better roster overall.

Bridgewater vs Smith would be a big net gain in cap hit.

Houston would have been resigned before last season and would have a lower cap hit.

The two second round picks sent for Smith could have been used on quality pieces at positions of need.

And the cap savings from smith might have created the room needed to either retain A good player lost via FA or add more talent.

Basically, a better, deeper team that really probably isn't any worse at the QB spot.

Was never going to happen, Albert wanted more than he was worth that's why we drafted Fisher.

For all the people calling Fisher a glass vagina, Albert played in 9 games last year after signing that huge deal.

And Bridgwater may end up being the QB we really ****ed up on, or he may be the next Josh Freeman.

Freeman looked like a steal his first couple years then..........

That being said I agree with pretty much everything Duncan said.

And they likely would not have gone to the Super Bowl had he been taking the snaps instead of Kaerpernick.

I do wish, however, that the 49ers had gone BACK to Alex Smith when he was healthy. Then this mediocre, milquetoast QB would have never played for the Chiefs. And ChiefsPlanet would not have been overrun by a plethora of AS ballwashers.
