Overreaction Planet Vol. 15

I want my own thread for it this year. I'm probably going to do it every year. A nice little repository where I can glean through the annals of Chiefsplanet and get the pulse of our user base as the season unfolds from week to week. Hopefully it'll be a good time.

Wish I'd thought of this before the year started, but better late than never. Or not. I don't really give a shit. I've given an idea of what this thread will be about in post 12, but here is a PRIME example of the kinds of posts you can expect to see in Overreaction Planet.

What the hell does Clark do? The most that will happen is Reid and Sutton being fired, and that isn't fixing the crux of the problem. We're still stuck with AS. Clark isn't unloading him. He won't take that cap hit.

We have to ride this out, unfortunately.

Yeah, I think most rational people realized both of these game could very well be losses before the season started. Just not losses like this. Just not the soul-crushing, hate-building, absolutely embarrassing kind.
Exactly. I felt 1-3 was incredibly possible to start the year. Somehow I talked myself over the preseason into the belief that we would curb stomp Denver. Take 3 of those turnovers away, and we do just that. Yet, because we are the Chiefs...

If you want to be the best, you need to beat the best and not get pounded harder than a $20 whore at a frat party. I've read this book too many times to get my hopes up anymore. Even if they make the playoffs, I think we all know how it'll end

If they don't win this game they're not making the playoffs. They're not coming back from a 1-3 start.

Bullshit. This team is a good team with a gaping wound at QB. There's talent all over the roster.

And why not? They beat themselves against the Broncos. Aaron Rodgers is invincible at home against most defenses. It was just a year ago that we beat both the Seahawks and Patriots...I'm still under the assumption that this is roster is better. It doesn't look like it on the standings, but there's a lot we haven't seen from our team yet.

A team with talent makes up for shitty quarterbacking... Such as the Bengals from 2011-2014.

Wrong again, as Dalton is actually a pretty damn good regular season QB. I know everyone's panties are in a bunch, but the first two weeks showcased the Chiefs talent. Even after the Denver loss, most of the national media were talking about how good the Chiefs are and that they beat themselves more than the Broncos beat them.

Just because Alex Smith sucks dicks isn't going to make me forget that we have an All-Pro RB, a proven Pro-Bowl WR, an emerging star at TE, the best pass rusher in the league to go along with a very strong and stout front 7, excellent safeties and an early DROY favorite.

Stop pouting in the corner like a little girl, which is what half this forum has been doing for the last two days.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. The sky is falling mentality gets so old. We just played 2 very good defenses (minus GB rush D) against hall of fame bound QBs. This team is good. If we are going to lose games, better now than later.

We are in a better position than last year, especially after that loss in the opener to Tennessee. Woof.

To be fair, the sky IS falling if you had any hope that Alex wasn't going to Alex. Dreams of post season success ride and die with Alex, but to act like this team is awful and isn't talented is moronic. This is the most talented team they've had in the last 10 years.

They need a QB. Same Chiefs story is the same Chiefs story.

I think if you flip any of those guys to other teams in the league, only Houston and Jamaal are the types this message board would call game changing type of players that you have to gameplan for.

CP isn't immune from over valuing players just because they don red and gold. Kelce and the big men on the DL are solid to very good players, but let's not crown them..

You seem to be under the illusion that every team is loaded with "game changers".

I'm not over valuing shit, im just not jumping off a bridge because the best QB in the league picked on ONE freaking player the entire night on defense.

All of a sudden the other 10 guys are shit because Marcus Cooper can't cover? Bullshit.

All of a sudden guys like Maclin, Charles & Kelce can't ball because Alex Smith is broken? Bullshit.

Just like the Bills....get a QB in there and watch the talent flourish.
