This used to be my favorite awards show because there was drinking & a lot of hilarious bits.

It was pathetic. It was way overloaded with sexual harassment, Trump, and equal opportunity. Women gloating, men nervous af, and tired Trump jokes to appease the audience.

One woman, when announcing the nominees made a point to say "And here are all of the male nominees". :/

I'm not saying they don't have a place, but simmer down now.

I thought it was a bit heavy handed. The only joke that was funny in the monologue was when the assistant brings out the globes when Seth is naming off Spielberg, Hanks, and Streep and he says "Not now, we have to wait and see what happens." That joke was funny in two ways because the reality that those three win alot of awards, but also that the movie they were nominated for really didn't take home anything that night. If you want to have equality, then do it with more balance. Don't pander to one demographic and think everything is solved now. After #oscarssowhite they had the most nominations and wins for African Americans, after the sexual harassment fiasco of 2017, they now have an awards show catered to women empowerment. The problem is you don't empower women or other races by pandering to them for one awards show then going right back to business as usual. You don't need to wait for something bad to happen in order to make something right.

I never watch these awards shows, because I would rather chew a ball of tinfoil. But from what I gather from the recaps, it was mostly them congratulating themselves for being brave about the sexual harassment they condoned for decades and then lecturing the viewer from their position of moral superiority.
