I keep hearing this.

I think its pretty simple. People dont agree with things, while simultaneously not thinking that they should be illegal.

Nobody is pissed off that these things are legal. People are pissed off because the outrage is manufactured.

If this conversation were to shift to the 2nd amendment, which it shouldn't.... I wish non-supporters would take the same approach to it as these people and just take a knee and stay quiet.

Sorry for the comparison diversion.

It's their right not to watch just as it's the players' right to protest.

I get a warm fuzzy feeling when people exercise their rights.

That is what I love by this conversation. Even the people bitching about the people bitching about the players have that same right. Bitch away people... bitch away. It is your right.

Why?
I have been saying this for a while. The solution to the problem is just stop doing it. It's a silly tradition at this point but we do it because 'Murica.

I'm not sure how linking arms and showing solidarity is a protest. Period. It's just linking arms and there's no actual basis for putting your hand over your heart and standing for the national anthem. Maybe some sat down because they were about to play 4 hours of football and some of those folks take WAYYYYYY TOOOOOOOO LONNNNNNGGGGGG to sing the darn thing anyway. And if I'm going to gripe, because that's my freedom......if you ever really listen to the darn words of the song it's a ridiculous song. O Say.....does that star spangled banner yet wave? That's the best we could do?

I'm not sure if you are criticising or simply observing, but I laid out earlier that I think you're NOT SUPPOSED to be sure if the arm link is protest or not.

I think some strongly wanted to protest and some strongly did not, so they linked arms to show that they were respectful, but breaking with tradition, but most importantly united as a team.

Hope that didn't sound confrontational, but I was trying to say I agree with you without others thinking I'm resorting to repeating myself.

In college one of my professors had a sentence diagram of the SSB on her door. Wish I could find an example of that.
