Well , I lost my starting job and grew my hair real big and really I was just too lazy to stand up during the national anthem. I sold my cousin a 9 that I had so I'm good.

The first is there so we can speak and protest freely to and about any entity of government and we know this because the bill of rights enumerates how we are protected from the government as citizens.

My right to say that your child is a reeruned walleyed waste of a teacher's time and the world's limited resources is a beautiful, but secondary, benefit of the first.

/edit... I'm not calling your kid anything, if you have a kid. I don't know. Making a point, not throwing insults.

desecrating the flag or not standing for the national anthem, which have nothing to do with their cause, is tantamount to spitting in the face of every man or woman who put on the uniform to protect our way of life.

There are other ways to get your point accross

Paramount to spitting in the face of every man or woman in uniform?

That's your opinion. It is not shared by everyone.

No... he is making an incorrect statement, and since you love distinctions, whilst Kaep is making his statement in a manner people find to be incorrect.

Flachiefs asserts that it Kaeps protest is paramount to spitting in the face of every serviceman. There have been several vets here on CP alone that have disagreed with that assertion much less across the entire internet where the #vetsforkaep took off.

It would be akin to Flachiefs asserting that the world is flat and you chastising us for correcting him on the matter when we know better. A strongly held belief does not equal truth.

You will understand this some day. An individual is entitled to think that something is disrepectful to you. You are entitled to disagree. Neither is a factual assertion as disrespect is a subjective concept.

Like I said, if you call a mentally challenged person a reerun, people can find that offensive even if the target of your epithet doesn't personally.

In case you haven't caught on yet, there is even a more inflammatory example I could offer you.

There are other ways to get your point accross
1. I think you mean "tantamount."
2. I'm fairly confident that if I went around spitting in the faces of vets, the reaction would be swift and severe.
3. I've never thought of the national anthem as even being related to the military. Every country in the world has one, and half of them don't even have a military.
