He's 6'6", 289 pounds and had 21.5 TFL last year.

I think people forget about salary inflation. Mack is going to get $25-30 mil on his next contract, and if you tried to get rid of Houston and replace him with a new contract for a better passrusher, it definitely costs more than Houston does currently.

Plus PFF ranked Houston as the 15th best edge guy overall last season, he by no means sucks.

People get far too wrapped up in sacks in my opinion, overall pressure and affecting the passer is the important thing.

10 sacks is pretty good. That is the number of sacks that Von Miller had last year, yeah the guy who is ranked no.1 on the NFL top pass rushers list going into next season.

I guess having a 22 sack season will create unrealistic expectations for some fans. Houston's play was not as good as it was the before but he was still good.

He was ranked #87 overall by PFF.

These are important points to note.

In a world where Frank Zombo has become a starter, Tamba Hali's corpse gets significant playing time in the postseason, and we're forced to hold onto Dee Ford at an $11m cap hit- I am just ****ing fine with paying Justin Houston $20m per. That is money damn well spent given our current situation.

Von Miller in all his glory, playing in a more aggressive scheme, with better corners behind him and superior pass rushers opposite him only put up like 1 more sack than Houston did. If you think Houston is "middle of the road" then so is Miller, Mack, Bosa, Ingram, etc.

Jesus ****ing christ i wasnt comparing him to zombo. I was saying that his production would fall even more on the other side of the formation. Comparing 50 on the left vs 50 on the right.

I give up. You ****ing dipshits just want to fight about nothing. I made a general statement about how houston is not an elite pass rusher and you bundle of stickss have turned it into a battle over nothing.

The fact still remains, he isnt an elite pass rusher, and ranking 16th among edge rushers is n ot even close to elite considering there are only ****ing 64 playing any given time. Yay for top 25% though!!!
