also, the planets we discovered that are as close as 26 light years are probably not inhabitable.., the odds are that any life out there is going to be much much farther away than that.

any civilization that is advanced enouch to travel that fast, would have already colonized most or all of the inhabitable planets in the galaxy within a relatively short period of time from getting the technology to travel and terraform.

It is highly likely that no civilation in our galaxy has this technology.

My understanding is that this is apparently HUD footage from an F-18. If so, whatever that object is had an RCS large enough for it to be tracked and "locked on" by the Hornet's radar.

The awkward moment when your defense personnel engaging in a "Secret" operation come across your other defense personnel engaging in a "Top Secret" operation.

Be fortunate enough to see one up close, and you'll believe just fine

Applying our knowledge of the laws of physics, to a race who knows how many millions of years ahead of us is just arrogant

There is also the possibility they arent coming from 'deep space', but from a different dimension... accepted science such as string theory considers just such a possibility

This is why the world will forever remain in the dark about UFO's. You're conditioned to not believe.

In order to convince yourself it isn't real you make up really really lame excuses to delegitimize what your eyes are telling you.

So a random thing in the sky MUST be aliens from space? Sure, there's something there, but how do you know what it is anymore than I do?

I don't. I've heard rumors however. This seems to confirm what i've heard.

I simply encourage you to stop making excuses for things that go bump in the night....

essentially the answer is YES

because:

either:

1) we actually are alone, because of 'the great filter'

2) we arent alone but the distance is so vast that even with ultimate technology it really isnt feasible to travel to other galaxies or universes

3) again, because of a different aspect of 'the great filter'...there are other civilizations out there but they all go extinct before they develop the technology needed to travel such great distances

or

4) they ARE here but for some reason they harness this great energy and resource (black holes) and expend a universe of energy and give up knowing and hugging anyone they have ever loved to come to earth, remain hidden and abduct cows

as in the above link, I believe the great filter is the ANSWER to the fermi paradox and also to the question of 'are we alone'?:

People throw this explanation around but considering we pour several hundreds of millions of dollars on F22s, I somehow doubt anyone on this planet has developed aircraft that can maneuver like that. I'd love to see some physicists comment on it.

I agree with everything you said. Still there is a part of me that would love to know that we or some other intelligence would eventually be able to warp time and space enough to travel to some near by stars that don't take a full generation to do so.

We still don't know what dark energy and dark matter are, could they be used as an energy source or even pathways through space and time?

I really think there are living things in our solar system. Especially on the moons of the gas giants. Stuff is swimming in our oceans, there could be some type of fish swimming in Europa or sludge growing on Titan. I think we are alone in our Solar system but not in our galaxy. They keep finding Goldilocks planets all the time there has to be a bunch in even our corner of the Milky Way that have had the time to evolve and become sentient. Communicating and meeting would be tough with our current limited tech.

I have seen the CNN footage a bunch of times and think it was a secret Military program. I have been told that Aurora happened by people close to the project. I know NASA was working on Hypersonic scramjets just a couple of years ago and I thought I heard of interest in bringing back an SR-71 type craft or faster. The way the new fighters can turn on a dime I don't see why skunk works wouldn't have something that could do what we saw on the clip.

3D vector thrusting has come a long way but nowhere near what's shown on the clip.. which is from 2004
