Sore Achilles

I am athletically active and realized just a couple weeks ago that a soreness has emerged in my left Achilles that hasn't subsided.

I know there is no surefire way to make your Achilles perfectly fine, but I was wondering who here has had a sore Achilles before, and what did you do to get it back to 100%? Is 100% a dream from here on out, short of some big surgery?

Thanks in advance.

Rest, new shoes, stretch

http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sp...les-tendinitis

I strained mine running on bad shoes and after two weeks rest, new shoes and stretching before any kind of running I don't have any pain.

Thanks!

I was actually worried that it was my shoes. I really don't like them a ton and I did feel like they were straining me.

Go to a running store and get a dude to analyze your stride and recommend some shoes.

VARSITY
You could get a transplant, but if the new one comes from a faster person then one of your legs will run faster than the other and you'll fall down a lot.

I have had one reconstructed and need to have the other done. I still run a lot just deal with the pain. Achilles really don;t heal on their own. Very little blood flow to it.

Stop being athletically active, eat whatever you want, and drink more beer. You'll thank me later.

I had some PT on my ankle and they gave me a stretch for it. I didn't know you should stretch it. I thought it would strain it but man those stretches changed my life.

Basically all it is is sitting on a chair. Leg at a 45 with a towel around the ball of your foot. Pull on the towel. If you straighten your leg it will stretch your calf.

All the running I did when I was younger I can't believe I never stretched my Achilles.

My Achilles pain was probably different than yours but I'd start with a new set of shoes and stretching frequently.

Hookers and blow may not heal your Achilles , but it certainly won't hurt it.
