Good thing we took an OT over a QB.

I've already gone on record with Geno Smith vs Matt Ryan.

Geno has been vastly underrated as a prospect due to the Andrew Luck/RGIII outlier draft class.

When Geno finally leaves NY, it will be on like a mother****er. As a 2nd round pick, he's not tied to the bitch like Snatchez was/is.

Ryan has also made quite a few clutch, game winning drives in his career. Drives that have greatly affected his team's record. $Cam....not so much. **** fantasy football and their skewing of evaluating QB's.

In '08, there was a decent number of posters on this board who were worried that we'd draft Ryan; they wanted no part of him.

Doesn't have to verbally point any finger it's all in his body language and demeanor of a stunted emotional kid who more often than not internally feels it's everyone else's fault. He is smart enough to not actually come out and verbally say it. But it doesn't fool anyone because the press and fans picked up on it immediately and it became a topic of big discussion last year to the point he had to get PR schooling on how to be a leader and 'own it like a man' which he is still a big work in progress But these type of personalities 'always' blame other people/circumstances and rarely change.

So you think there was a QB who will have a comparable career and success in the NFL to Matt Ryan in this last draft?

Who is it then? Go on record with who it will be please.

I am more than willing to go on record that similar to how I felt about Sanchez, Geno Smith will never be a franchise QB.

I'm on record saying that Geno can be a franchise quarterback if handled correctly. He should sit his first year and will need agood coach that can properly develop his skills. I'm not sure he's gonna get that in NY, but time will tell.

Geno never needed to sit a year. He did need to be in the right situation. That ain't the Jets.

I thought a franchise QB made the team/coaching not the other way around?

A guy coming from WV offense into the NFL and an NFL offense should be given good coaching.

Hell, Gabbert could have announced to more with better coaching.

Franchise QB's aren't just born, they are developed. Some got better development in college.

Coaching or playcalling?

I don't buy this at all.

Marino, Elway, Montana, Peyton and Eli, Luck and so on were franchise QB's, no question. Luck and the Manning's were bred to be franchise QB's.

The definition of a Franchise QB to me is a guy that is ready to start Day One and lead his team to victory after victory. Not a guy that needs years to develop into a Franchise QB.

That's a developmental QB.
