If Teddy Bridgewater really does fall, do you draft him?

I'm seeing rumors that Bridgewater is falling like a rock. He might even slip into the 2nd round.

You are making the Chiefs selection at #23 and Teddy Bridgewater has fallen, do you pick him?

The league is not immune to trends, and the current trend is to get that franchise QB by any means necessary. Bridgewater has been thought of as a possible franchise QB since January 2013. Given what we know, he should be picked very early. However, there may be information we don't know that lowered his draft stock.
If QB wasn't viewed as important back then then why did the most dominant team in the 90's decide to use their #1 overall pick on a QB?

In the history of the NFL a QB has been selected 31 times #1 overall. Thats 8 more times than the second most picked position.

Just stfu.

There's a big gap between 1989 and 2001, more than enough time for a trend to change. Remember, the Patriots coaching staff got most of the credit early on for their success. Brady only started receiving the praise he gets now after the third SB win, when Weis was at Notre Dame and the Pats defense was beginning to crumble.

But times have changed.

Guys that are passed on at least once by 32 teams dont stand a chance at being good in this day and age. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Nick Foles, Andy Dalton... all garbage because we know that NFL GM's are never wrong.

So every front office in the NFL feels confident enough to leave a possible franchise QB on the draft board because they think he'll be available in the second round? You're arguing that Bridgewater is at least very talented as a football player, which I agree with. My point is that he shouldn't be dropping like this with what we know. His measurables, while not ideal, aren't bad. His pro day performance wasn't great, but he shouldn't fall as far as he has based on that alone.

Well, we know he's pretty much eliminated from being first overall, which many projected him to be last fall.

You'll soon learn that the media doesn't make the picks.

Mike Mayock: I wouldn’t use a first-round pick on Teddy Bridgewater

Quote:
Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was once viewed as a potential first overall pick of the Texans in this year’s NFL draft. Now he may not even be a Top 32 pick.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock is the latest to say that Bridgewater looked so bad in his Pro Day that it’s a reason to re-evaluate everything he put on tape.

“If I was a GM in the NFL, I would not take him in the first round of the draft,” Mayock said of Bridgewater on the Petros and Money Show, via NFL.com.

Mayock said he liked what he saw on tape from Bridgewater, but he had no choice to change his mind after seeing Bridgewater throw in person at Louisville.

“I would say in general, tape is worth about 85 percent of an overall grade, and the rest of the process is set up for red flags, and to go back and watch more tape to try to confirm what you saw or didn’t see,” Mayock said. “I saw about four of his tapes prior to the combine, and I really liked him. I thought he had a chance to be a franchise quarterback from what I saw on the tape. . . . Except you’ve got to see the quarterbacks throw the ball live. I’ve never seen a top-level quarterback in the last 10 years have a bad pro day, until Teddy Bridgewater. He had no accuracy, the ball came out funny, the arm strength wasn’t there, and it made me question everything I saw on tape because this was live.”

So maybe the Texans will take Bridgewater. With the 33rd pick.

The dude has been nothing but clutch in his college career. That is the it factor. Let him ride behind Alex for two years, then deal Alex to some QB desperate team and roll with the new franchise QB.

OMG GUIZ, HE'S NOT A PERFECT QB PROSPECT AT PICK 23. PASS! Seriously, if a bad pro day is what drops him to 23, call me crazy for trusting the years of tape.
