Depends entirely on what Dorsey and Reid think of him. We're gonna find out fairly soon. If we trade for Alex Smith, then that says they don't believe in him or Barkley.

I don't agree 100%. I think its more of a transitional thing. If Alex Smith is brought in, I don't really see a reason why a QB can't be taken first overall. I wouldn't necessarily expect it, but I wouldn't rule it out completely. I think in the worst case, it just means they don't see any of the rookies as week 1 starters.

Wanting to trade down is one thing. Finding a willing partner is another. It doesn't mean a deal will happen even if they want it to. I don't think many teams will be willing to trade up in this particular draft. The Chiefs probably aren't too keen on moving down too far, and I doubt a team in the 5-10 range would be willing to deal a high 2nd round pick to take a player in the top of this draft.
Teddy Bridgewater could be a very good player next year. I was looking at him for the Eagles because Vick probably won't be here past 2013.

If they trade down past Philly, they obviously don't WANT Geno.

Detriot shopped the top pick when Stafford was their pick too. Even if it was a token shop around, I recall seeing it at that time.
My guess is that is what is happening here now. Shop it to see if there are any takers. Nothing short of a massive haul of draft picks will sway Dorsey and Reid though. JMO |
