What's your favorite sports ball?

I don't mean what's your favorite sport to watch or even play. I mean with all other elements of the sport excluded, which sports ball is your favorite? Your favorite to throw, catch, hold, handle, dribble, sit on, hang out with, juggle, whatever.

Personally, I'm a fan of the tennis ball's versatility; you can throw it like a baseball but also bounce it like a basketball, both inside and outside, even when you don't have much space to work with.

My cats used to own some bouncy little sponge balls, and I would sit at the bottom of our stairs and throw the ball up there, then try to catch it as it caromed around off the steps, the wall, and the pursuing cats. I had as much fun as they did.

Anyone else ever throw a ball up on their roof as a kid, and then try to catch it as it came back down? I'd stand where I couldn't see the roof and then throw a ball - pretty much any kind of ball - up there. Since you couldn't see exactly where it was going to roll back off, it was good for honing one's reflexes.

We did that as kids. We also used to sit on opposite sides of the house and throw the ball back and forth.

This... except I prefer the racquetball for all the reasons you mention.

Oh, yeah. That was good, too.

Sometimes we would try to throw the ball over the roof and then run around and catch it ourselves on the other side, but I'm not sure if any of us ever accomplished that. It was difficult when you lived in a one-story ranch.

a Racquetball is quite versatile.

Throw it against the wall and play catch with yourself.

Use is as a stress relief.

Strengthen your grip.

But they scuff/mark walls, so while they are cool, they scuff white walls.

My dad bought me a glove.
Taught me how to throw it on the roof and catch it.
That was the extent of my dad playing catch with me.

...I get teary eyed at the end of Field of Dreams for a whole other reason.
