Home and Auto Washing Machine troubles

We've been having issues with our drain overflowing. I've poured acid pellet stuff and drano into it throughout the year. We had a new drain pipe installed all the way to the main house line early spring last year.

Today it overflowed so I poured drano down it. I then used the hot water line down the drain almost on full blast, with no drain problems. First load and it overflows.

Any ideas?

Besides AIDS.

The drain line? I don't understand how it didn't overflow with just the hot water line pouring into it but did overflow, with the washing machine drain line. Both were coming out with close to the same pressure.

No. The drain line starts a out level with the washer and goes into the wall, down into the crawlspace.

It would have to be right after the drain line. No other line gets clogged.

Is it not weird that pouring hot water directly from the hot water line doesn't make it overflow?

And you're certain it's the drain backing up during the drain cycle, not the washer over filling?

It's draining into the pipe and overflowing.

I tried a second smaller load and it didn't overflow. There wasn't near as much water pressure coming out of the drain pipe as the previous load, a few towels. Not even a full load. I'll stuff that bitch full of clothes and it won't overflow.

It does overflow, almost every time, when she washes diapers.

Check the vent that goes up through the roof. If its plugged it won't drain properly.

Yeah my first guess would be a blockage, maybe from lint/soap buildup.

Second guess is the drain line isn't venting properly.

A hose may not replicate the volume or pressure of a draining washing machine which would explain why you can't get it to back up. Also the size of the laundry load should not affect whether the water overflows. The fill valve works off a vacuum line that will shut off when the water reaches a certain height regardless of how much is displaced by the load.

Where is this vent line? Unless there's one under the house, there isn't one. Going up from the drain line there isn't one.

It should exit through your roof

There is no pvc pipes coming out of the roof on that side of my house.

There might be one, it's been awhile since I've looked up there on that side.

If there isn't one, that is my problem then?
