Talib: Facemask was intentional

http://nesn.com/2016/02/aqib-talib-c...-foul-was-b-s/

Aqib Talib Committed Facemask ‘On Purpose’; First Personal Foul ‘Was B.S.’
by Doug Kyed

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — There was no one more ecstatic in the post-Super Bowl 50 press conference room than the always entertaining and sometimes volatile Aqib Talib.

The Broncos cornerback marched up to his podium with his three children and let out an enthused, “Yoooooo” after Denver beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 for his first championship ring.

The night didn’t start out too positively for Talib, who was charged with two personal fouls in the first 20 minutes of action.

“It was all good,” Talib assured. “It was B.S. flags. One was on our sidelines — the guy was talking on our sideline. One I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him. It’s probably going to be a fine, but hey, we’re world champs.”

Talib’s first personal foul came when he was called for taunting after pushing Panthers wideout Corey Brown out of bounds following a Broncos sack.

“We were just talking, and it was getting a little chippy, so the ref picked me to slow the game down,” Talib said. “We didn’t do anything. We were just talking noise to each other, me and (Brown), a regular conversation.”

The second was thrown when he yanked Brown out of bounds by the receiver’s facemask to prevent a touchdown. Talib downplayed the impact of the foul.

“My teammates knew what it was,” Talib said. “He was on the 3-yard line. (With) a personal foul, he was on the 1 1/2-yard line, so it is what it is.”

The Panthers scored their only touchdown on the ensuing play, when running back Jonathan Stewart leaped over the line for the score.

“That was the most fun game I’ve played in by far,” Talib said. “I had about four or five catches on me, and I still think that was the most fun I’ve had in a game in my life.”

By the looks and sounds of it, Talib also had plenty of fun after the game, too.

Meh, who am I fooling, the NFL will issue many warnings before the game, and they won't take the shot at him that he's more than earned.

Screw bench time, he needs to have the living crap knocked out of him (at least once), and take it like a man and shove the yellow hanky back in the officials panties and tell him that he deserved that one..
Are you ****ing kidding me? They get a favorable schedule again? Carolina, New England and Indy all at home.
Such bullshit. That's a damn easy road schedule.

Sure is. They'll lose some of those games though simply bc the other teams QB should be better.

Did Denver have the better qb in every game they won this season?

The schedules are preset based on seeding. Denver has played @ NE for a long time prior to this last season. They played @ IND the last 2 seasons I believe.

No, but they also had a lot of lucky bounces winning a ridiculous amount of games by 7 pts or less. Law of averages says you lose quite a few of those this year if your defense regresses at all. You're likely to lose a couple starters like Malik and Trevathan. Ware could break down at any point. Talib will be 30. Do you really think your entire defense stays relatively healthy again?

Also, I know Peyton was shit this year, but he still saved the day against SD and probably the entire season. No way you get to the SB and win it all as a WC. If Brock almost blew it in December against the ****ing Chargers at home (without Weddle and Verrett), you don't think he's going to cost you some games next year?

Brock didn't blow it against SD, he was actually having a really good game. The INT that he threw went right through Jordan Norwood's hands before a Charger wound up with it. Everyone else on the team kept turning the ball over, not Brock.

He had 3 of your 5 turnovers you ****ing idiot troll

He got benched because he was about to destroy your SB chances with one more.

The only turnover that was Brock's fault was his fumble. Brock played well that game.

First INT was still an inaccurate pass across the short middle of the field, and the second he didn't feel the pressure coming from his right (not blind) side. There's a reason he got benched, and it was 100% the right move. What does that tell you that you were better off with 39 year old brokedick Peyton than your future QB?

We went 5-2 with Brock and probably should've went 7-0. Brock handed the undefeated Patriots their first loss last year and had a lot more good moments than bad. I think every coach in the NFL would feel better with a HOF QB behind center in the playoffs than they would a first year starter.

Yea he got off to a nice little start like a lot of guys do when DC's are figuring them out, but by week 17 he was getting benched against the Chargers shitty d that didn't even have their two best players in their secondary. That is not a good sign going forward. Nick Foles fluke start lasted more games than this loser.
