Yes, I agree. I've been stating this for quite some time. Guy is a heck of a prospect and produced big at the collegiate level. I think he'll be one of the better WRs in the upcoming draft, once the dust settles. He's got the intangiables you look for and I'd love for this guy become a Chief. He's also very dedicated to his craft and puts a lot of time in breaking down film.

Doesn't fit with Alex Smith.
Strong is somewhat like Bowe, IMO.

Probably still prefer a separation WR though.... just saying. Strong wouldn't be useless in the scheme.. just as Bowe wasn't. Was just highly overpaid and lazy. Strong is said to be an A+ character and effort guy. KC could do worse.

I really like Strong and was impressed every time I watched ASU. However, I also agree that he isn't an Alex Smith WR. I don't think he will get enough separation for Smith to feel comfortable throwing to him.

We need a possession receiver. Strong had 70% of his passes received go for 1st downs. He's 6'3" and runs a 4.4 40. He has great hands and runs precise routes. He's a hard worker and diligent at watching film. He is probably the hardest working WR at the collegiate level. I'd say he's a perfect fit.

It isn't just that he doesn't fit with Smith, he doesn't fit with Reid. Doesn't seem to be able to break tackles or avoid DB in the open field.
Nelson Agholor is WAY more of a Reid receiver. |

Agholor in THREE seasons has 178 Receptions 2572 Yards and 20 TDs Strong in TWO seasons has 157 Receptions 2287 Yards and 17 TDs I respect your opinion, but Strong is a no-brainer over Agholor. Also, ever heard of T.O.? I'd say he produced for Reid, wouldn't you? This 'Ol doesn't fit with Reid is a bunch of hogwash.

Doesn't mean he can't find a useful role with KC.. Bowe was useful, right? Strong just isn't an ideal fit.

I labeled Gaines, Fulton, Murray and DAT as Reid/Dorsey guys before the draft last season and I'm telling you everybody in here is wrong that doesn't believe Strong is a fit for this offense. If he ran in the 4.5's I would agree, but he's got the speed to get separation and is absolutely unstoppable with the back shoulder throw. Think of him as our Jordy Nelson. This isn't Reid's offense in Philly. We need at least one big wideout.

Also, if Strong isn't a fit for this offense, then why did we ever re-sign Bowe to a huge contract?

Strong is a physical receiver but doesn't play nearly as fast as he timed at the combine. He doesn't have the quicks to create consistent separation in this league, IMO.

I agree with this. Seemed most of his catches came with a DB draped over him. He's a good receiver, but he's not the quick and shifty type that Reid seems to prefer. I think Strong could fit, about as well as Bowe did, but I think that's it. I think Strong catches the ball better though.

Posted this in another thread, but I think Dezmin Lewis is pretty much the same prospect as Strong, will be available around the 3rd-4th rounds.
